The Bee Gees vibes are strong with this one – I'm convinced if you'd sent this to Robert Stigwood back in the day, you'd be a gazillionaire by now, and the Gibb brothers would have been kicking themselves for not writing it first. You missed your yacht, David!
Man, those Bee Gees - once they got past their pyromaniac stage - were something else. And when one market dried up, the figured out how to crack another. Amazing music.

Your chord sequences and melodies are delightful, and that chorus is a total standout. It's not just strong, it's taken up permanent residence in my head – rent-free
You crack me up. smile

And your sleep deprivation story? Well, it just confirms what we all secretly suspect: true artistry requires a healthy disregard for REM cycles.
I suspect a true artist sticks to a regular work schedule, put in the daily time, and then goes and plays golf in the afternoon. wink

Reading your backstory was like getting a backstage pass to the chaotic, brilliant circus that is your creative mind. It's the kind of wisdom I pore over in biographies to understand this glorious, maddening, utterly addictive 'songwriting thingo' we're all hopelessly hooked on.
The amazing thing is how many different people have different approaches. I can't remember who's autobiography I was reading, but they told of how they were always on the lookout for interesting words and phrases to supply the germ of a song. Paul Simon would scribble constantly into his notebook. There are all sorts of mental exercises suggested for songwriters to get free association working and their mind ready to be creative.

Of all the many books on songwriting I've read, I think Jimmy Webb's ("Tunesmith: Inside the Art of Songwriting") is perhaps the best, because he's got a system, from start to end. It's a very logical, worksman way to approach things. Trust in the system, and you're going to end up with a song.

In summary, this is a truly lovely, cleverly spun, and perfectly assembled sonic treat for my very grateful listening pleasure.
Thanks for the kind words, and the plethora of emoji. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?
