Hi Carl!
Your chord choices in this piece evoke the theme really well - supported by good instrument choices. I could imagine it would express emotions and thoughts for someone who is unable to due to the circumstances. A good piece.

Thanks BDT - a bit soft for this forum perhaps
but I tend to look for warmth & emotion in my
music making, can't do that in vocals & lyrics
so I try my best via instrumentals!

Carl, we shouldn't be apologizing for something "too soft" for this forum---our swath needs to be as wide as possible so that our creations reach all sorts of emotional realms. Besides, I know you've posted "softer" pieces!! I really liked the chord sequence in this one--much of your work has a more extended and free-form feel to it. This sounded more like a conventional song structure, so that's a nice change-up. As always, your sense of cohesion with the elements is so professional and strong. Of course, beautiful playing as well. Enjoyed it greatly.

Tom - many thanks for your supportive & helpful comments,
yes I mostly work from some sort of chord sequence and
don't have a real plan when it comes to melody or 'tune',
free-form as you say! The chords are what inspires in
real time as I play over the top - really chuffed with you
approval and glad it sounded ok to you!

Mario - glad you thought this was ok, I really wasn't sure
about posting yet another softie on the forum but relieved
a few approved.
Reflections of real recent events in my own life - friends passing
and/or moving half-way round the world. Also strong feelings
of relief at finding answers to the severe hand & fingers pains
in May/June which felt like the end of my playing instruments.

Well shoot. I've had some time to listen to several forum songs this afternoon and they've all been amazing!! This is so polished (balanced) and the occasional note just dives in and tugs at the ol' heart strings. I liked the switch just over midway. It's really beautiful, calming, but not sleepy, if you know what I mean (and lol I just noticed the style is called Dozy. That's ironic!)
