That ... was AWESOME!!!! We rarely get anything like that here, and done by one of our own members to boot. I'll bet it's a hoot playing on a stage with you. Good on ya Charlie.
Out of curiosity, I wonder if the sound production could have been done with Real Band? Anyone out there tried this yet?
a number of people on the forum are experimenting with making videos of their music, and I expect that we will soon start to see the results of their efforts. Music can be created with lots of different software packages, but once it exists it can be added to a video no matter how it was created. So, yes, RB or BIAB can be used. In fact, I think Carlos has already posted several videos incorporating music that was recorded with PGMusic products. So has Flatfoot, and I believe some others as well. (update: John Conley just added one)
I think the existing technologies are well suited to making music videos, and in a digital world we will be seeing more of them. Adding graphical content to a song lets you involve more senses in the listening process. It also makes a convenient way to add the lyrics so they can be viewed in synch with the music, when that is desirable.
I'd like to see more people posting their songs in a video format. Personally, I think it is the shape of things to come. In fact, it's already here.

Dave, thanks a lot for your comments.
Joe, thanks so much for your comments. FL Studio isn't the same as BiaB. It doesn't generate tracks for you. You have to record each track that is recorded. So I would have to say it's slower that BiaB, time wise.
The chromakey key feature is very useful. I started out by ordering things to use for chromakey (which I didn't really need). What I've found out as I progress is all you need is a solid background (black, blue, white, green, etc.) Green seems to be best (for me) and don't wear clothing the same color as the background. What I'm using at present is a couple sheets of plywood, painted green by me. On the last video, I also used a dark blue bed sheet. But make sure you have good lighting. I've put 150 watt bulbs in the sockets I use plus I let in all the sunlight I can.
Russ, ole buddy, thanks a lot for your kind words.
Pat, I've found that the video really adds to the song. I've also found that at times people pay more attention to the video and the song is secondary. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. :-)

Having seen some of your other output Charlie this comes as no surprise. I remain convinced that no one here has yet managed to combine creativity, humour, and technical competence in both audio and video in quite the same way as you do.
certainly touched me!!

charlie,
where do you get the videos you merge into your own shots? Youtube? If so, how do you capture them?

Powerderman, thanks a lot for watching and for your comments.
Pat, on the Beatles and Hendrix clips I used FireFox for that. And the clips are from YT. If someone asks that they be removed from the video I will do it promptly. The video is non-commercial and definitely not done for profit.

Nah, I doubt that anyone will try to sue you over that. I was just asking because it adds value to the video, and I thinks its a cool idea. I'd like to do it too. Going that route makes a huge number of video snippets available for a project. In many cases, depending on how much you used, the original source would be hard to identify.... especially videos of scenery, animals, public gatherings, historical events, etc

Great video Charlie! (though it has been a year and half roughly since the original post) Someone fired this link off in a response to a question I had about synchronization. If you still visit these boards (or, I suppose I could send you a private message or something)... How did YOU do it? Play your song in the background and lip to it? Do you "clap" to synch (audio spike to match up vid to audio)...or? Thank you for any input... I am of course dwelling on these small issues...maybe, just maybe, I can have some fun like that too.
