Hello,
I wondered if there is an online library of SGU songs?
Has anyone collected them all and put them all together in searchable database(s)?
I am actually looking for a version of The Last Farewell by Roger Whitaker.

If one only has the basic version of BIAB what is the best way of finding the closest match to the original intended song arrangement?
I don't use BIAB often, (once a year) and I often have trouble replacing the real instruments. I usually resort to replacing the whole style with one already in my version. Is this the best way? Maybe there is an online step by step guide for when we download a song and need to do this?

"Notes Norton" does excellent SGUs for songs in RealBooks: https://www.nortonmusic.com/
Minor9 has free and rather less good songs, mostly standards, but with the melodies: https://bhs.minor9.com/

Finally, I figured out how to find chord display by changing the view so I can now enter lyrics.
Unfortunately, I seem to have lost the mixer panel.

I am using _PBALADM.STY to enter these tabs and it is very sweet.

Jademan,

Songs that have melodies have an .MGX extension. There are numerous websites that have Biab files. Some have a lot more than others because Biab has been around for 30+ years and people uploaded their song files.

I don't know how far back websites go, but I know there are some still out there because I recently searched for a specific song and found it on a website. Sorry, I don't remember the website name, but is was several years old from a forum member here.

I can also vouch for Norton's Fake Disks and they are ready to go. They don't have melodies though (copyright).

Thanks for the kind words about my fake disks, Trax and Gordon.

I have one on sale for half price right now, until the end of September. About 3.5 cents per song.

https://www.nortonmusic.com/fake29.html

I have 52 fake disks, average price is about 7 cents per song.

Again, no melodies. Some copyright holders refused, others asked for as much a $2.50 per song. If you need the melodies, most of them have companion fake books sold by Hal Leonard, and other publishers. I have links on the same page as the fake disks.

It doesn't work here either.

{edit} - I tried it both with and without a VPN.

OK, I think https://www.nortonmusic.com/catalog.html#top is fixed now.

It's been a long time since I did that web page, and I used a CAPTCHA for security.

Since then, the CAPTCHA page changed its URL. Under further investigation, I discovered that Google was collecting information from the CAPTCHA page, which is exactly the opposite of what I want.

So I went back to HTML school to find a way for you to email me without putting my e-mail address on the page for the spammers to collect. I found what I think is a simple way to do it.

Thanks y'all for alerting me and verifying the problem. I hope it's fixed now.

Gotta run, gig tonight.
