You managed to lay down an excellent bass track while staying out of the baritone's way - not an easy task.
A fantastic narrative, bear hug vocals and an arrangement that isn't cluttered in the slightest.

Super vocal backed by the perfect backing band. I really dug your bass lines and ton, great job on that. Super choice of RTs and they were perfectly mixed with your vocal and bass.
Loved it. Thanks, Mario, and thanks for noticing he bass line. Bass lines (usually) should be subtle, but if you take them out, the song is lost without them. But, man, you already know that so well. Hi, Marty.
Well, you started with a great title, and it only got better from there.
You sound great, and you're fun to listen to.

Ha! It took a second for my brain to unravel that. Nice wordplay. Ha, you know the drill, David. Come up with chords and a Style to match, then start strumming while singing nonsense until something catches (usually in the chorus for the hook), and then we write a song around that. Sheesh, what to write after that is sometimes the biggest challenge. There's only 2 ways to go after already saying goodbye. Hi Marty,

The baritone guitar is very effective.
It was used a lot in the '60s, but it feels fresh to hear it again now.
There are a lot of songs about couples getting back together, your song is one of the best and the lyrics are very moving.
Your vocals support it beautifully.
Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.

Great song, lyrics and vocals. My favorite line was "our now will never be our then." You keep em coming, but they're all keepers! Thanks, Bob. Yep, learn from the then and the when will be better. Marty...great "make up" song...love the style of this one and really nice BIAB solo...fit the style perfectly...great vocal and your production and mix are crazy good...well, well done! Thank you, Dan. This couple didn't just do the typical "make up" for just a selfish night. They did it for each other. Janice said “yea!” for the happy ending. 😊
We enjoyed the story and your vocal was so good.
Your expression following the line of “she’s back dressed in lace” was
priceless.
Your bass is always top bar and the band was hittin’ the note.

Shigeki Adachi Thanks, Shigeki. I couldn't afford a baritone guitar in the 60s, so... haha Thanks for the kind words about the vocal. Since I suck at playing bass and singing, I never sang until making demos. Now I learned enough to practice, practice, practice.

Really sweet ballad. I enjoyed the positive message, the clever thought in the title and the backward story - first the bad news and then the happily ever after part. Beautiful melody, a timeless pop classic.
The band is perfect, the baritone guitar sounds especially great, that all-purpose hazy ballad soloist fits completely to the mood. Your bass and pleasant vocal are marmelades on this tasty dessert. Superb mix. Definitely one of your best songs.
