Great, light, joyful instrumental. Your harp playing really conjures the New Orleans vibe. Thanks so much, Chay!

I don't know how you were able to record such a clean take with a Harmonica, but it came out perfect.
Trax TBH, if I'm soloing like this for two minutes or more, I usually have to re-record a riff or two. Sometimes it's the daggone harmonica's fault and sometimes it's mine.

Rob, a real joy to hear where you are taking the melody and the variety of tone you demonstrate in your playing. . Andrew Thanks, Andrew, great to hear that!

I knew there was a reason the harmonica was created. First, Charlie McCoy verified it needs to be heard. And now you just put the exclamation point behind that.
Super cool with an authentic Nawlins sound. Totally loved it!

Cool melodic journey, and you've got the wah DOWN. Thanks, Ron, I was trying hard to sound like Bubber Miley, Ellington's trumpet player. I got the wah but I couldn't get the growl. I'm working on it!

This is delightful! Your harmonica and the tuba sound great together. We like how some of your licks sound like a muted trumpet - cool.
J&B Thanks, J&B, for such a great review. I got the mute down but I haven't got a growl yet - still working on it. I'll get there!

I'm not sure what that riff was at the end of the bridge, like a downward slide, but very cool! Loved it! Tom, do you mean that percussive thing the banjo did? I loved that, too, and made sure I didn't play harp during it so everyone could hear it. Looking back, I should've made a volume envelope so it could be louder. As Fleetwood Mac sang, "Oh, Well."

-- yesterday I went to your Soundclick page and it was the first time I noticed "The Harpbreak Kid." You are one clever dude, and, dang, you play a mean harp. Every tune on there is exceptional. Yours is my new favorite channel on the Internet. Great stuff!! Marty, thanks for all your kind comments and for noticing my Heartbreak Kid page on Soundclick. I'm certainly not an overblow wizard like Howard Levy, but I am proud of the music on that page. Thanks so much for noticing it!!!

Huh...when I tried to listen, the link rendered the following: 403 - Suspected Bot Activity Your request was flagged as originating from automated or suspicious software. Seems like a Soundclick issue, since you have the same problem with Dan's link and he also uses Soundclick.

Hi Rob,
Very enjoyable song, but indeed, a bit short... And I read about Marty's struggle how to call you. I always called you TM, but noticed people called you Rob, so that it is for me now. I think Rob is good since we already have Bob Dean TM is fine as well.

I've heard it said that the harmonica is one of the easiest instruments to play..... not for me. But you sound like you have it well under control for the both of us. Herb, I'm sure with your musicianship you can learn to play harp. I learned by copying the great bluesmen: Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, BIg Walter Horton, Sonny Terry. Some great country harp players are Charlie McCoy and Mickey Raphael. I will admit it is much harder to copy those two. Charlie plays super fast, and Mickey has a vibrato to die for and is something you and I will never be able to replicate. But you can still take a stab at playing along with those guys and see where that takes you.
