I seem to remember that the harmony in RB 32 bit had an ability to 'loosen' the harmonies so that there was a slight difference in timing to the original vocal. That made it sound more like two singers. The current 64 bit harmonies are so 'tight' they sound like a thickened version of the original not separate voices. Before I start experimenting with chorus and double tracking does anyone have an easy solution to 'loosen' the harmonies?

TC Helicon was 32 bit I believe (that had the Randomize or Humanize setting).
I've not really played with the 64 bit. How did you go about it?

Since you are an experienced user .. have you tried launching the 32 bit RB? See if the old features show up?
I sometimes switch to that when I need an old feature that isn't working in 64

You might try, if on separate tracks, offsetting one track a few milliseconds before the other harm track. A little trial and error with just how many ms to offset might work, instead of using the snap tool for exact timing at the start? Worth a try.

I keep both the 32-bit versions of RealBand and PowerTracks on my computer for situations just like this. I've got some 32-bit only plugins I like, so I can process in the 32-bit version, then bring the modified WAV into the 64-bit version.

Doesn't RB still come with 32 bit version? We no longer develop 32-bit versions of BB, RB, or PT, however we still include the last 32-bit version. In the case of RB that's the 2020 version. Much more pertinent - we no longer have the license to distribute the old TC Helicon harmonizer, which was last included in the 2017 version. None of the current downloads include that.

we no longer have the license to distribute the old TC Helicon harmonizer, which... I have the strong impression that TC Helicon have become much more protectionist about their technology. I was one of several people who were in a position to help Focusrite make Firewire drivers for Linux for the newer generation chips, but it seems like TC Helicon said "no" to allowing the OpenSource community access to their chips. Soon after that, Saffire faded away.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful. AVL:MXE Linux; Windows 11 BIAB2026 Audiophile, a bunch of other software. Kawai MP6, Ui24R, Focusrite Saffire Pro40 and Scarletts .

Simon,
I have Win 10 and Biab/RB 2015 versions. Will my PC be able to handle the 64 bit 2025 version, because I plan on upgrading soon.
Thanks,
Trax

As long as the Win 10 is a 64 bit operating system your pc should be able to handle 2025 Band-in-a-Box and RealBand. Almost every Win 10 installation is 64 bit. I'm running 2025 BiaB and RB on a 64 bit Windows 10 computer with a weak Intel i3 microprocessor and 8 GB of ram. The storage drive has 500 GB of storage. I'm the fourth person to use this laptop. It was originally purchased in 2007.
You mentioned you plan on upgrading soon. That's a good idea since Microsoft is ending all Windows 10 updates October 14, 2025. There is an option to purchase an additional year of security updates though. Do a web search to find out more.

Muzic Trax. (or any lurkers.)
my comments...
1..its best to detail your pc config...processor ? etc etc. then on cpubenchmark.net look up your processor. if its old with a low single thread score (i recommend at least 2000 these days..) you might run into probs. also look up its math handling performance. AND 2..run the tests i detailed in pg tips forum in the thread useing an existing pc.
frankly my el cheapo new mini pc has amazed me. rb reports over 300 tracks. and latency mon reports it has one of the lowest microsound latencies in the pc market. bb 2025/rb boot up in no time flat. few secs as does win from cold.
the biggest problem i see these days is old pc's that are not optimised for music production sooo the whole shebang falls apart under load eg too many tracks/plugins etc etc.
anyhoo read some of my tips sometime in tips forum to save me retyping pages and pages.
just some ideas.
om

Our full system requirements are on this page: https://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.requirements.htmOn your PC please go to the Settings app (search from the Windows menu), then click on System followed by About. The most important thing to look for is under "System Type" - it should be 64-bit. If it is 32-bit then the 2025 version will not run - however we still include the 2024 32-bit version, which will have most of the new features since 2015. Almost every Win 10 installation is 64 bit. I have seen quite a few 32-bit Windows 10 installations, even recently.
