Hi Alan!
I heard someone say that the cello is an instrument close to the human voice. I studied cello at high school a long time ago. I think I saw you write that you are not a singer yourself, so I pray that the cello is singing words that your voice might not be able to. While this song has a sadness to it, it also sounds full of warmth and love - from reading your words, something that your heart is full of for your Di.

What a beautiful tribute this is, Alan, and I was sitting on our porch watching hummingbirds on my (Janice) first listen. The birdsong is such a delight and the cello with the fingerpicked guitar reminded us of the warmth of Di’s voice.
The music you made together was special for all of us and her vocals have been and continue to be inspiring for me as to how to have your listener truly feel the lyric.
Your cover photo shows Di’s physical beauty matched her gorgeous voice. We hope all your sweet memories and the healing power of music will help you adjust to a new way of life. You were both fortunate to have shared such a deep love for each other and for music.

PS Bud here, Janice didn’t mention that she can whistle mimic a lot of birds and carries on conversations with them. Hey, Y'all! Your words are so kind and comforting. She, too, loved hummingbirds. And yes, as beautiful as she was outside, she was even more beautiful in heart and soul. Janice is a most talented lady! I can quite nicely match the sound of a frog having a hernia! The proof is in the pudding - go back and listen to a vocal or two from previous songs on which I sang!. Music has been very cathartic for me. It has kept me relatively comfortable when I need it the most. Best to both of you. Alan

Ouch!! Alan, this one pulls so much right out of my chest. So much emotion is poured into this beautiful piece, and there is so much emotion that pours out of me listening. I listened once and couldn't type anything. This is all I can get out of the second listen. Just know that you touched me, man. Although never near you, I am with you. Marty, And your words touched me. Thank you so much. I started this back in early June - she passed on May 21st. I entered the chords and was looking for a style to use as a base. But that was as far as I got. So, I shelved it. I'm glad I got back to it to finish it. Doing so lifted a small part of the burden from my shoulders. The process consists of numerous small events. This was probably one of the biggest small events. It truly helped. Thank you, my friend. This means a lot to me. Hope the world brings you everything good. Alan

Alan, what a beautiful masterpiece you have created in memory of your loved one. It must have been very difficult to record this while having such beautiful memories.

IMHO this is your best to date.
I phoned my wife and asked her if she wanted me to pickup fish and chips on the way home.
She just grunted.
She still regrets me naming the twins.

IMHO this is your best to date. Hi, Mario ... Your perpetual kindness to my music is very heart-warming. There were a few touch-and-go moments as I worked on this one. But that's okay. best to get the emotions out rather than suppress them and then fall victim to them. That's a dark hole i don't want to fall into. Thank you very much. What a touching and beautiful tribute. I also love the sounds of birds and the cello is a fantastic sounding instrument, I'm amazed how you have managed to express your deep feelings through that single instrument with your carefully selected chords.
