Part of the problem is exactly this. Macs are expensive, and a significant chunk of our user base is using older Macs for that reason - I regularly talk to users with Macs that are 10+ years old, and I personally still regularly use a 2012 Mini. If we were to compile BIAB to support AS Native, that would instantly stop many of our users from being able to upgrade, or force them to buy new computers. In fact this already happened to a limited extent in 2025 - the previous version supported Mac OS Snow Leopard from 2009, while 2025 only supports as far back as El Capitan from 2015.
