What a blues rock trio! All the above and more - excellent. Appreciate the support, Ray! Dave, Chris & Marty, When you three get together I know that I am in for some sweet ear candy and this song really delivers. Outstanding vocal Chris. Marty is a pro bassist and Dave a pro guitarist. Loved the groove on this one, the outstanding vocals, and those sweet guitar leads. All of which sounds liked they were recorded and mixed in a pro studio. Loved it. Thanks very much, Mario!

Hi Dave! Perfect Lover has all your good usual elements of Blue Attitude: your lead, Chris’ vocals and songwriting, and Marty’s bass work - each part played so well and tight that you all work seamlessly. In this song, I particularly loved the effect of the wah(?) guitar, not overused, but enough to make it a recognisable element of the song.
Yesterday, I did a deeper dive into your more recent song threads to appreciate your music. You and Chris and Marty have a good partnership going on here - I am interested in how you and Chris came to work together - assuming you met Marty here on the forum?
I am always in awe of people such as you that have lead guitar skills, and often wondered how you approach the creation of each solo? From a position of ignorance on my part, I am wondering if it’s based around the vocal melody, or known licks, or based around chord notes, or I’m assuming a combination of all the above? Or maybe it’s felt rather than thought?
Good work in the genre you guys work in!
Andrew

Hi, Dave. What they said! Clean mix, good write, solid vocals, excellent guitars, bass holding everything down. Everything in the pocket. Appreciate that, David! Hi Dave, Chris and Marty,
I really enjoyed the song, the singing, and the guitar playing. This blues genre suits you all perfectly. But that is not a surprise. You are a good team too! What more lovely words can I add to this? Perhaps, when Chris sings the "do do di"lines, Dave could have come in with his 'smokey'voice singing the same words... Is that a great idea or not?
Hans HI, Hans, I recently remixed an older song called Down by the Sea and one of the things I did was remove a part that had Chris and I trading off on vocal licks towards the end of the song. Not that it sounded bad, it just sounded out of place for my voice to all of a sudden show up when Chris had sang the rest of the song by herself. So for this song I decided answering her vocal with my guitar was a better idea. I'm happy you liked the song!

What a wonderful lyric and I’d probably quote each and every line! Chris always sings with the perfect attitude for the song and makes us truly feel the lyric. Cool scat singing outro also. Love Dave’s wah wah fills in addition to the great solo. The mix is excellent and Marty always nails the bottom end. Great lyric video with the awesome lover birds, waterfalls, beach scene and, of course, the couple with a bike Excellent choice of clips all around. Well done and we loved it! J&B
Our albums and singles are on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Pandora and more. If interested search on Janice Merritt. Thanks! Our Videos

Dave Chris and Marty,
All 3 of you knocked it out of the park on this! An energetic tune that really showcases your immense talents! Dave that guitar really has a searing tone that is just what this one needs! Chris's vocal is sweet and youthful sounding (my favorite I've heard from her so far)! Marty is so solid as always laying down that foundation! Great job!
Thanks, TB Thanks for the positive review, Torrey! Attitude,
Great drum sound. You use EZD to great advantage. Excellent Mix. Toontrack really kicked things up a notch when they released EZDrummer3, much better sounding than EZDrummer2. All I do is add a little reverb, the default is a little dry for my tastes. Really nice opening. Beautifully played and a perfect fit. Lovely tone.
Like the opening, the solo is ...Beautifully played and a perfect fit. well-thought-out, I'd say.... damn.fine.guitar.work The touch of wah was an excellent choice! Cool little stabs. Thanks for noticing the Wah! I thought it added just the right touch. You might find this interesting since you also use S-Gear; I initially recorded a wah track using my Cry Baby pedal that I've had since the 90s, but it sounded too harsh, so I thought I would try the auto-wah pedal that comes with S-Gear. Just used one of the presets, and it worked a treat. As always, Marty's bass is just-right-in all-ways. Tone and touch. Hellava Bottom.
We are fortunate to have Chris with us (here in the Showcase). QUALITY Rock writing. QUALITY Rock vocals.
Y'all are a QUALITY Band -with a capital B
fj Marty and Chris are the best! We have lots of fun working on the songs together. Thanks for the great review, floyd, very much appreciated!

Dave, Marty and Chris Superb work by one and all. Top quality song with great singing and playing (very melodic solos!)
Peter I've always been more a fan of melody than chops when it comes to solos. Thanks, Peter! Hey, super song and guitar work gents. I can hear/see a lot of Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart in this.
Most excellent. I'm a big fan of his, seen him in concert three times, and Chris and I both enjoy the projects he has done with Beth Hart. Thanks for checking out the song!

Hi Chris, Dave, and Marty, Cool song. The mix sounds really good. Excellent playing and singing. The mix has a nice depth to it. Chris sings each passage perfectly. Dave's solo not only sounds great, but is also played superbly, of course. All of this is accompanied by Marty's fantastic bass line, of course. The lyric video is a nice extra. Great work by everyone. Andi ;-)

Thanks for noticing the wah Yesterday, I did a deeper dive into your more recent song threads to appreciate your music. You and Chris and Marty have a good partnership going on here - I am interested in how you and Chris came to work together - assuming you met Marty here on the forum? Chris and I met on SoundCloud 10 years ago. I had just got back into playing after taking a few years off and was posting blues instrumentals. She was interested in getting into the blues genre and was looking for someone to collaborate with, and happened to stumble across one of my instrumentals. She reached out and asked if I would be interested in doing a song with her and the rest is history, I think we have done around 100 songs together so far. Marty joined the forum here around 5 years ago I think, and when he heard our songs asked if he could play bass on some of them. Not sure how many songs he has played on, but all of them over the last 5 years. The three of us communicate using messenger while working on the songs, and have lots of fun during the process. And I play guitar on some of his songs too. All three things you mentioned, and in addition I would add scales (major and minor pentatonic for me) and modes (Ionian and Mixolydian in my case). But you don't think about any of those things while playing. Basically it's a matter of knowing all of those things inside and out so when hearing a chord progression you can hear lots of options of things you can play over those chords without having to think about it. And that takes many, many hours of playing and trying different approaches over different chord progressions over many years, and I still spend probably and hour or so every day doing that. Good work in the genre you guys work in!
Andrew Thanks for the great comments!

I was wondering how such a perfectly blissful love song could be realized as a blues song. But Blue Attitude made it possible, perfect work, perfect musicians! Chris's lyrics and vocals are flawless diamonds and I was sold when Chris sang without words. Dave's guitar work and Marty's solid bass are full of joyful blues, if there was no such thing before, you have invented it The song made me feel calm in this chaos around me. Janne

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
