Sunday's Groove

Just having a little fun last Sunday.

I'm taking a short break from my New Age/Ambient stuff and jamming with various BiaB styles. My next song will probably be back to those genres, but no promise.

BiaB style - Funk at T70 - Slow Funk
Tempo - 65 BPM
I deleted the string track
Bass - Ample Bass - YingYang - slap setting
Piano - Lounge Lizard - Reed - Rockin' Roots
Guitar - Kontakt - SoundProp - Direct P90 - Palm Mute setting
Drums - the RD from the style

I am playing my Kramer NightRider guitar and via my breath and keyboard controllers the Swam Tenor Sax.

As always all comments are welcomed.

Cool one, Mario. Love those changes! Nice band and that's a FUNKY tone on your Kramer. Super feel on the tenor sax, as always with your nifty controller work. A+!

Mario,

Love this! I can't get enough of that Swam Sax - it sounds tremendous. The Kramer sounds great as well. All wrapped up in an excellent mix.

Nice one, good groove, but was your guitar a little bit out of tune?

Very cool jamming groove. I thought that was you on bass until I read further. Yeah, used that Yin-Yang slapper once too. I really like the drum intro. Cool changes with enough variation to keep the solos fresh. This ain't the New Age I've heard --it's Mario better. I dig that guitar and the sax adds a nice touch. Any genre you play you make your own. Well done.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanx Brno. I always tune my guitars prior to playing them and according to Melodyne they stayed in tune. Maybe it was the effects?

Did anyone else noticed that the guitar wasn't in tune?

Thanx Marty. I always try to put some me into my songs, otherwise they would be like an AI song. The drum is just a B fill count-in.

Hi, Mario.

Nice backing tracks, and good playing on the sax - melodic and catchy! smile

Really like that drum roll intro. It's interesting how the instrumentation can make a track sound faster or slower than it actually is as this at 65 bpm sounds faster than my new one at 90! I realised that if I used purely Latin samples it would appear to be a lot faster than it actually is.

Thanx so much Chay. Yes the density and rhythm of the rhythm section has a direct bearing on how fast the song sounds.

We enjoyed the jam.

The guitar and sax (ever how you do it smile ) always work together so well.
Reckon they ought to given you are playing each one!

Even before we listen when we see your waveform on SC it's obvious it's gonna be a nice mix.
Open, plenty of space for each track and nice dynamics. Right in our wheelhouse.

Enjoyed it!

J&B

PS: Regarding a previous comment we say your guitar was and always is in tune. Period. 😀

It's Saturday today, but it works just as well! Fun little groove...kinda reggae to my ears...at least the bread, not the filling. Really liked that change at 1:15.
