... I liked the sort of "low fi" vibes on this. If stream of consciousness works for you, keep at it. I certainly works here. Thanks David. That stream of consciousness technique has sometimes yielded good results - I usually use only parts of it. Re 'low fi', I had to look that up. The Interweb said 'Lo-fi music, short for low fidelity, refers to a genre characterized by its intentional inclusion of imperfections in the recording process.' Yep! That's me for sure! Thanks for listening! Andrew

Really liked the guitar on this one, it served the song well. Also liked the rhyme of empty and tempting, it's edgy but it works. The lyric on the whole was repetitive, but I think that was the point. Good song, I liked it!

There's something familiar from the 70's with the chord progression, but you have used it as an excellent vehicle for your own vision. I really like how the arrangement, especially the organ, reflects that decade - very nice intro. The guitar filling around the vocal works really nice and of course the "rebellious" bass work has the right attitude to row against the current. Sad story with very original lines like "We fumble the history with a kind of clumsy", I can relate to the feeling of "not going home". Catchy hook and very likeable vocals, enjoyed those high notes, no AI can sound so sympathetic I'm not sure whether my situation is like yours... I have several finished songs while I have tens of songs under work - sometimes even for years and some older songs that need polishing... And I need to decide which one to post and which one to work on next. Janne

The lyric on the whole was repetitive, but I think that was the point. Good song, I liked it! Thanks Rob! I know you have an interest in the interplay between words and music, and I remember when writing this, the repetitive chorus lyric bothered me a bit (I don’t normally do repetition). That give rise to the guitar fills as a means of making the chorus more interesting. I wish I had kept a record of my amp and tone settings used on the guitar so I can re-use those in future. Thanks for listening! Andrew

… Sad story with very original lines like "We fumble the history with a kind of clumsy", I can relate to the feeling of "not going home". Catchy hook and very likeable vocals, enjoyed those high notes, no AI can sound so sympathetic … Thanks Janne! In the context of more AI, I’m learning to embrace my imperfect vocals as having humanity to them. … I'm not sure whether my situation is like yours... I have several finished songs while I have tens of songs under work - sometimes even for years and some older songs that need polishing... And I need to decide which one to post and which one to work on next. Yes, similar. While I’m trying to record my back catalogue, I keep coming up with new songs! Still, I won’t grumble about having abundance - meant specifically and generally. I’ve found it is best for me to have a couple of projects on the go to keep my ears fresh for each one. Thanks for listening and your insights. Andrew

Nice one Andrew. I liked it all except the tone of the rising guitar line...I think I would rather it be cleaner or truly fuzzed out. Bass could be a little louder perhaps so that the change of direction was more evident. You wrote a very interesting lyric that has plenty of scope for interpretation. ACE!

I don't know why, but I'm listening to your song for the third time now, which is rare. I think it's the combination of claustrophobia, angst, and tension that captivates me. Really good ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

It’s always good to get feedback from others to understand what others are hearing, or not, and consider this for the next song. I’m finding the production process one of skill accumulation. Thanks for listening! Andrew

This an excellent song, Andrew! I wouldn't say writing lyrics isn't a strong point as this song, words and music, are truly captivating. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

I find my familiarity with my songs obscures my own perspective, so it’s good to get listener views like your own to bring a fresh perspective. Glad you liked it! Andrew
