Thanks, David. I didn't know about the book, I'll try to get hold of a copy! And yes, late at night work on music, a no-no. Still ... if that's the only time you get to work on it ... argh Thanks for listening, and for the kind comments!

Thanks, Mario! Such kind words! I'm so glad you liked the song, I really am. You somehow get my music, it seems, more than most, so I rely on your comments as good feedback. I'll therefore see what I can do with the synth voices, but I'm glad you liked the song overall, otherwise Thanks again for taking the time with it!

Fine tribute to THE MAN. The lyric really speaks to his legacy. Cool progression and an intriguing melody.
And we are always down with a waltz. Nice mix and work with the synth.
Enjoyed it!

PS FWIW, we feel that the user of synths owns the vocals. ... not so much with Suno.

TuneMonger, you're absolutely spot on, I think. I was a little overambitious, perhaps. I don't think, that said, that I should have gone for an "orthodox" chord progression, but yes, simplER should have perhaps been the way to go. That said: I tried . Suno is great, I tried it myself; however, unless you are on a paid subscription plan, you don't own the copyright to your own work, even if you later upgrade (you only own the copyright of songs created WHILST on a paid subscription). SynthV is a one-time payment, but then the stuff is yours to keep . We all inspire one another, on this forum, and I love that about it. We push and inspire each other to create - what could be better, especially in a music world which can otherwise be anything but collaborative? Thanks for listening!!!

James, you went for creativity here, and creativity should always be acknowledged. So keep being creative! You've made some wonderful, unique pieces that I've really enjoyed. And what would we do without the forum? A vital part of the musicmaking process, no doubt!

James, creative theme, nicely executed. The changes still sounds like you though, which is very cool. Nice BiaB backing track, too. FWIW, definitely the wildest waveform I've ever seen on a song file. Always on my mind, too.

Ron: hahaha, re: waveform. Never crossed my mind, that. See? Always a unique angle to be gathered from SOMEONE, on this forum ... Thanks for listening. And yes, THAT performance, by Willie Nelson, of "Always On My Mind" is one of the greatest performances I have ever heard from any musician, anywhere, any time. That control, that phrasing, that sincerity ...

Janice, Bud: thanks. Your comments are always much appreciated, because you're amazing musicians - and, of course, kind people Re: Suno: if you're on the paid plan, you have a "commercial license" for the recording you create, it seems. That said, I prefer Band-in-a-Box, from so many perspectives, including the unequivocal rights that we have, as BIAB users.

That said, I prefer Band-in-a-Box, from so many perspectives, including the unequivocal rights that we have, as BIAB users. I was a bit of obtuse When I said "owned" I meant it figuratively. From my perspective programming a Synth V vocal is hard creative work and I see it in the same light as using midi. But when Suno creates a vocal it's a different thing. IMHO FWIW Boatloads of salt.

Hi James. As many above me have already mentioned, this is a great tribute to an amazing man You really have found your creative voice as a lyricist and a songwriter. I enjoyed where you took me. It was also refreshing to hear Eleanor. I have never used that vocaloid. Listening to it in this production, I was impressed with its clarity and diction. The words were very easy to understand. This is definitely another song to be proud of. All the very best, --Noel P.S. I completely understand the Late-Night-Post Syndrome. I've been there, been very embarrassed, and I try not to think about the emotional damaged that I probably sustained as a result of it. These days, before posting, I always (well, nearly always) wait 24 hours after I think my song is ready for the world to hear.

Noel: thanks so much. ALWAYS nice to hear from you. The fact that you think I've found my creative voice as a songwriter and lyricist is such a massive, massive compliment, in my eyes. I've been struggling with that, a little, in the past (many of us have, I think, at some point), so it's so good to hear someone other than myself think that I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel . Thank you so much for those such kind words. Waiting 24 hours before posting is a wonderful idea, I think. I'm the impulsive type, at times, lol ... when I've worked so hard on a track, and I think it's done, I'm almost compelled to FINALLY share it, lol ... a lesson in life, though ... patience, haha. Has to be learned, that is all Hope all is good with you. Thanks for taking the time

Willy good. I found some of the notes at the end of phrases ended a bit abruptly. Not your voice but the song sounds like one of yours. GOOD stuff.

Thanks, Ray. Yep ... technical ability in production was never my strong point, which is of course no excuse ... all the more reason to work on it, in fact. That said, thank you so much for your comments about the song. I'm so glad you liked it ... I was none too sure about this song to begin with, so ... thanks!
