So, you want to improve your song. Maybe you want a simple fade out of all instruments together. or just raise the bass in the chorus.

Band in a box has a window for this, it's very similar to major sequencers in it's function. Once you understand below, you can ffind other more advanced ways in teh video below. Here is a simple method:

Head over to the red button, with a wave icon, called Audio Edit. It's thre steps right from the chord sheet button. Click that.

A largely black window appears. Above it is a ruler showing bars in eights. The vertical axis is decibels (volume or dB). Default shows a flat white line, meaning the volume is neither increased or decreased.

There is a white horizontal line in the black area - this is your volume. Default it is flat, but you can change this, either for a single instrument or the whole song.

Here is how:

Select your target track in the mixer, this may either be a single instrument, or the master track (all instruments). The selection should also show up just above the black window on the RHS, in a text box. The default is probably Master.
You can't edit without enabling edit, this is done using the rectangular black icon, with a blue line with two dots on it. It's called the "Volume Automation mode". This is to be found on the RHS of the text box. CLick to enable this.
The black screen now shows two horizontal lines. You are interested in the blue one. Click where you want crescendo/decrescendo,fade etc... to begin. You should find a blue dot appears. Click again where you want the crescendo to end. You can now drag your dots up or down to create a ramp or declination in the level of the volume (dB).

Awesome, thanks for breaking down the volume automation! The blue line trick is way easier than I thought. Gonna try that bass boost in the chorus right now.
