I watched, with a great deal of interest, a video produced by Henry Clarke regarding creation of backing tracks from an intial MIDI file. He did this by using the Open Special command to bring in the midi to the sequencer and generate the chords. His next move was to transfer the idividual midi tracks in the sequencer out to a variety of BiaB tracks. He did this by dropping the initial MIDI file onto BiaB and this did the track. I was unaware of this facility, he said it was introducede aroun 2021 but I couldn't find any reference to this in the manual or in any of the tutorials/update videos.

Henry the applied and enabled and auditioned a new style to the song. Now the intersting part happened, with his Sonar application already open, he control clicked and dragged the Master BiaB track across to Sonar and all the tracks rendered as individual WAV tracks on Sonar, even those that still remained MIDI in the BiaB song.

So, I tried this for myself and all went well until the rendering stage. I normally work with Ableton, but in this case I used my Sonar X3 (not the BandLab version). When I control clicked and dragged the Master across, I only got a one-track rendering of the entire mix. Maybe this was a Sonar X3 problem.

So I tried the same transfer in Ableton. Dragging the Master across to Ableton didn't didn't do anything. Dragging the master onto WAV rendered the entire mix. The only way I could transfer independent tracks was to drag each one individually.to WAV and then across to Ableton

Could anybody let me know of any refernced to tthis drag and drop feature for MIDI and if any Ableton or Sonar user could let me know why I am unable to do what Henry Clarke did so easily please?
