I changed my forum pic several weeks ago, but Chrome never updated in the forum. MSEdge shows the new pic but not chrome. Any ideas. I logged in and out of the fourm, plus I tried to clear caches.

Nothing.

Do you see the old "Grief" dan or the new "professional head shot" dan?

I’ve seen the young Dan on Edge (desktop) and Safari (iPhone) for several weeks.

I just launched Chrome and entered the URL, and got the image shown. What is more interesting is that I don't know how the old image is being cached within the new posts. I would have thought that the image came from the PG Music forum software.

Andrew? Any ideas?

Dan, can you take a screen capture of what you see in Chrome? Maybe there's a hidden clue.

Try a shift->Refresh, which usually forces a complete re-read on most(?) browsers.
Can you get the new avatar by just clicking on the old avatar in a post, or by right-clicking and opening the image in a new tab?
If not, try getting Chrome to clear all it's cache and history.

Normally the browser will reload the image either when it's declared caching-time or sooner and it's rare for the latter to be more than a couple of days. I imagine your PC's clock has the correct time and isn't a month out or something like that. I think Windows gets time online these days, though I'm not certain of that as I don't let Windows touch the system clock.

CTRL + F5 didn't clear it?
Usually forces a reload of the entire page in all Windows browsers.
Hold CTRL and tap F5 once ..

I'll be darned - "Try a shift->Refresh" did it. I have never ever ever used that feature! Did not know it even existed! Thanks Gordon.

This new image is a bit dated (If I shave and put on a suit I think I could still pull it off). However, my wife's passing which promted the "Grief Avatar" is now over a year ago. So I thought best to remove this from the forum. Also, just had my 50th wedding anniversary. So I am trying to move on as best I can. I will likely look for something more contemporary for an Avatar, but this "pro headshot" from my business life was the best I could find.

In memory of my wife Carol, I contracted a walking trail around my HOA subdivision with a bench in rememberance of how much she loved to walk.

From Dan who Loved to Walk with Her"

The walking trail and bench is a wonderful idea Dan.
I'm sure your HOA appreciates the thought and your generosity.

Well this is good news indeed, and the dedication at the walking trail - touching and thoughtful. Stay great, Dan.

I'm glad that worked. I was a bit sceptical as other similar things hadn't, but it's my usual "forced re-read" and I think it's always worked on every browser and on every platform where I've done it.

Nice walk and a really touching wording on the memorial bench.
