I went through something like that with my 3rd and final ex-wife. The first thing she did in the morning was put her makeup on. The last thing before bed was take it off. Come divorce time, I was given a choice: 50% of the assets with a fight or 25% and the dog (the rescue documents were in her name) uncontested. I took the dog. She took a bit of the extra money and spent $80K-$100K on plastic surgery, trying to look like she was still in her 30s instead of north of 65. I never had a problem with the way she looked, just what was going on between her ears. I just lost that dog. He was 17. He loved life. He never complained. He was my best friend through thick and thin. There's no way to put a price on that. I miss him dearly.
I'm glad you like the song. It's interesting to me how a song can bring back memories and thoughts. I appreciate it when someone listens and, thinks about it. And by the way, I agree with you about dogs ...we've always had them
