City Nights

Just me letting off a little steam.

While trying to search for pictures of BobH that I took on our vacations for Bob's family I am also trying to get ready for winter and Halloween. Couple that with mulching leaves and the fact that a main water line broke a couple houses away from ours that partially covered our driveway and front yard with mud, clogged the water drain in front of our driveway, and made a muddy mess of the road I needed a break. Hence I just had to let off a little steam.

Warning - there is some dissonance in this song so some of you may not like this one.

BiaB style = City Night sw16 Smooth Jazz
Tempo = 75 BPM

I deleted the guitar track
Bass - Ample Bass - J Bass
Drums - Steven Slate's SSD-5 - Deluxe Vintage 60's tight kit
Piano - EZKeys 2 - Electric Grand - Basic
Strings - Kontakt - 16 Sparking Angles

Me - lead guitar - Xavier 335 P90s
Via my breath and keyboard controller the Swam Flute.

City Nights

Hi Mario!
This is great! Dissonance? I’d call it ‘attractive dissonance’. Just so ‘in your face’ and proud of it. No flinching. Like a musical form of showing the middle finger to the water company. I love that moody middle bit as well. This was so outside the lines that I want to come back and listen again.

Mario,

Sounds like some pretty sophisticated jazz to me... Loved it. You should let off steam more often. smile

It's not dissonance, you are just giving us a musical snapshot of what your front yard looks like!! Loved the background "strings". As usual, your explorations are interesting and challenging!

Mario, very slinky, very cool. Lots of harmonic tension but nuthin' I'd call dissonant. Love the composition and arrangement, and you playing is superb across all instruments. Great job channeling what's going on into a VERY emotive tune. You're the best. smile

Another great instrumental, Mario. I'd call it something like 'electro-jazz'. I particularly love the Swam flute.

I would call those lines you are playing jazz lines, not dissonant lines wink

Sounds great, Mario, you should let off steam more often!

Steamingly good, Mario. Man, you ought to send your neighbor a thank you card. I'd like to send them one too. Cool jazzy feel. Love the tone and taste of your Xavier. Well played. Your Swan always adds an interesting touch. Cool drums in that Style.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hello Mario
You may have let off some steam, but it didn't hurt anyone, or rather the opposite, because it's relaxing music and the dissonances don't bother me.

Hi, Mario. Hope things settle down for you.

Definitely dissonant - sometimes. Nothing wrong with that though.

Happy Halloween.

The flute and guitar performances are very nice.
That steam morphed into a song that we much enjoyed.

Your open mix with the nice subtle dynamics well delivered it.

It went well with the morning coffee. Thanks.

Well done!

Open Air tempo can be hard to follow for a reason, I would say, after your loss and the house issues, this one kind of has your guitar trying to find itself again. That can be a good thing. The guitar can be a source of relief and release.

Hi Mario.

This is excellent. I love the jazz/funk vibe that you've created. Honestly, I've never head "letting off steam" sound any better than this. You are the master!

First-class listening!

The steam is rising. I love the dissonance. It makes it all so interesting. The breath controller flute sounds like the real McCoy.
