Well, I probably have no business writing a country ballad. Feel free to tell me to stay in my lane. ; )

Lyrics:
Always tried to be a faithful guy
Didn't stray or let girls catch my eye
Famous fatal lines, I let myself go blind
And wound up with a stranger for a night
Now I've got to live with what I've done
The aftermath has left me feeling stunned
I know I must confess, she'd expect no less
Time to find out how much I've undone
I know the feeling
When your love has been untrue, it'll send her reeling
I won't know what to do
The guilt it will be magnified
Under her words, under her eyes
In my heart, I'll die each time
She tells me I ain't worth a dime
Who knows, might even make her up and run
It'll send her reeling when I tell her what I've done

Never ever thought I'd go astray
Like to shift the blame but there's no way
Thought that once was cool, boy was I a fool
Wish somehow it all would go away
Yes, it's hard to own up to this sin
Show her how I won't go wrong again
Will she realize the truth within my eyes
Or believe I'm weak like other men
I know the feeling
When your love has been untrue, it'll send her reeling
I won't know what to do
The guilt it will be magnified
Under her words, under her eyes
In my heart, I'll die each time
She tells me I ain't worth a dime
Who knows, might even make her up and run
It'll send her reeling when I tell her what I've done

Well, you absolutely have no business...apologizing for this!!!! To me, this is a very successful effort--you're basically creating a template or baseline if and when a "real" singer might want to take it on. You've created exactly the right sort of style, melody, story, etc. for the genre. Excellent work!!

As a German, I have even less business to write a comment on a country ballad shocked
But I know a good song when I hear one, and this one is definitely a good song.
Very well done, how you integrated the vocals into the rest of the song it's more than just scratch vocals.
Really good job [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

Bob, your lane was just widened as this is excellent country.
Great vocals and backing tracks.
Super mix.
IMHO your best to date.

Rob, super job on this! Sounds very much like what a country song is, so...it IS, to my ears anyway. Vocals are better than alright, and I like the harmony lines. Mix is nice throughout. Might vary the backing track arrangement a little more for dynamic flow and variety, but it's a fine demo now. Would have been nice to have a harp solo in there, too. smile The harp does "sad" really well.

We may have to change your forum name to "Country Rob" now though.

Bob,

That's an excellent country song. Nice combination of BIAB & Suno. Production is outstanding.

You've just earned your stripes in this style, and your singer is a pro.

Haha, your lane. Didn't know we had lanes, Bob. Hope I'm not, too. In my opinion you have access to all the lanes of the musical highway, and you did a fine job taking the Country ramp. Like every country song, this one has outstanding lyrics. Great job on the SUNO vox. The whole band is mixed perfectly.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Excellent song writing, Bob. The finger-picking moments really shine, too. Lanes are for cars, not creatives!

Hi Bob,
I'm impressed about these 'Suno' vocals!
I think I said it before, in another song of yours. But they are really great!
And the song itself is a very nice country song.
When you're alone and feeling miserable, you go to the bar and hear this...
Well, they really need to leave you alone for a while.
This is what you call a real tearjerker. But a really good one!

What's wrong with you writing a country song?
It sounds very good to me, beautiful music and the suno vocal completes it.

Rob,

An excellent Country write. Quality lyrics. Nice melody - a lot of 90's Country flavors (the best).
I assume the melody is all yours? With these Suno things it's hard to know who I'm supposed to compliment...
The vocal is pure 90's Country.

Nice backing. Good mix.
Really nice song. Very original.

Well, I can breathe a sigh of relief now that this song has passed muster with you, Floyd. I had no idea this was a 90s sound, thanks for telling me. Yes, I wrote the melody. You're right, SUNO is confusing as to attribution. There are kids getting on SUNO and thinking that if they can write a prompt, that makes them a songwriter and a musician. Pretty funny, but maybe a little sad, too. Thanks again. I was afraid this was quite unoriginal, and I'm so happy to learn otherwise.

I'm no expert when it comes to country music, but this sounds pretty legit to me, Bob. Oh, I just read the review from Floyd, so there you go! wink

Really good writing, band sounds great as does the mix. And those Suno vocals always blow me away, amazing really!

Good stuff, enjoyed.

Thanks, Ron! I stink at folk/country harp, so that's why I didn't play. Blues/jazz is my thing.
