I just want to add one more thing …. in my mind, “cover” should mean: play the song exactly as written, being respectful to all the elements: melody, chords, lyric, rhythm, tempo…I don’t mind adding a little (I mean “a little”) personality to the vocal, but don’t “invent” things. Also add your own ideas about instrumentation. that’s probably a lot more restrictive than the concept present in Suno and other AI tools that tend to want re-make a song in some new way, but that’s the respect I would like as the composer, handing my creation off to someone who’s going to interpret it. My 2 cents. Hi Tom! As a songwriter, I can well understand (and support) your position on this - being able maintain control over your own creation. Looking forward to your next! Andrew
