I've never heard Romanian folk music like Doina before, so I can't judge whether this song accurately captures its atmosphere, but it's a very relaxing piece of music.
The way the atmosphere changes when the saxophone solo starts, and then changes again with the guitar solo, is brilliant.
The chord progression is also cleverly done, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it.
The video's storyline is also enjoyable.

One of the things I'm very grateful to BiaB for is that from when I first began using it I found myself using chords I'd not normally play on guitar as mainly from the late 60s to early 80s I was predominantly songwriting and as my vocal range is limited I only used chords I could sing along with. A few months ago via researching the tuning of the Andean charango I was surprised to see that some strings were tuned to 4ths and 5ths and I've never used either in chords before, then non sequitur I discovered that the English (I think originally French) lullaby "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" is an example of perfect 5ths, so I incorporated the lullaby into an instrumental in which I was using 4ths and mostly 5ths. That carried on into my next 2 instrumentals, after which I wanted to do a doina (even if not a perfect one) using similar instrumentation, which led to this (though the previous 3 are all better). The chords I used came from studying the structures in classic doinas - nearly all are in C - and again I use chords I'd never have previously played on guitar. Not only 5ths but such as flat 6ths and 7ths, plus flat major 7ths. I'd never have played those on guitar before. In April 2023 I created a video for "Nadia's Doina" by Georghe Ralescu which has a balalaika ensemble behind the flute lead and I posted it on my YouTube channel - it's the most beautiful doina I've ever heard - and I posted it on my YouTube channel, but I can't paste the link here as the forum admin delete non-BiaB links.

Engaging, Chay, and the vid was not a distraction. In fact "Sitting On A Rock" is a good thing.  Good build to this. I hope Arri hears this one. I bet he knows the Romanian doina. Man, I dig that sax. It demands attention. I'm guessing she finaly found the flower. Thanks, Marty! Yep, I'd totally forgotten about your sitting on a rock! When it came to the video I wanted to use one of the many CGI characters I've hardly used before, so as I'd created a 'neo-doina' I chose Aliya, one of the four Solar Sisters, as the name is Slavic. In the music the part where the panpipe ends and the micro-chords section comes in before the sax (later the guitar plays them) sounds sinister, which is why I decided Aliya - an expert martial artist - should be attacked. As I've even less room on my laptop - which is purely dedicated to my CGI - than I have on my PC the simplest way to go was to use the skydome and water I've used previously in some of my Venus videos, so I just replaced Venus and her props and replaced them with the rocks and Aliya. The green ogre is based on Tahrghouls from my novel, though they're purple-skinned in that (also in my "Venus Rides" video). They like eating humans, but as they're genetic creations they're not skilled fighters, just brutes.
