This song has a "twist" at the end so, if you listen, please listen to the whole song. I'm doing all the singing and adding a little guitar but it's mostly BIAB. PLEASE DON'T READ THE LYRICS FIRST..........YOU'LL SPOIL IT.

RealDrums in style:JazzFunkGroovin^1-a:Sidestick, Hihat , b:Snare, Hihat THREE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING...........SITTING HERE ALONE
THREE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING...........SHE AIN'T AT HOME
THREE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING...........SOMETHING SURE AIN'T RIGHT
THREE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING..........GOT A FEELING....SOMETHING'S WRONG TONIGHT

SOMETIMES SHE LIKES TO GO OUT NIGHTS...... CHECKING OUT THE TOWN
SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING........SEE WHAT'S GOING DOWN
I KNOW THAT GIRL JUST LIKES TO HAVE HER FUN...IT'S PART OF THE DEAL
BUT WHEN IT GETS THIS LATE AT NIGHT...CAN'T HELP HOW I FEEL

BUT IT'S THREE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING....NOW .I'M GETTING SCARED
NIGHTS CAN GET REAL DANGEROUS......THINGS CAN GET REAL BAD
YOU GOTTA BE ON YOUR TOES....IF YOU PLAY THE NIGHTTIME GAME
CAUSE IF YOU'RE NOT SMART ENOUGH., QUICK ENOUGH...IN A NEW YORK MINUTE, EVERYTHING CAN CHANGE

BUT WAIT A MINUTE NOW I HEAR ...THE TINKLE OF A BELL
SOME NOISES DOWN THE HALL....YEAH I CAN TELL
BABY CAME BACK HOME....AND SHE'S OKAY
SO NOW THOSE WORRIES IN MY MIND....CAN JUST FADE AWAY

MAYBE SHE'S HUNGRY..COULD USE A LITTLE BITE
I GUESS SHE'S HAD ENOUGH OF THIS PROWLING 'ROUND ... CALLING IT A NIGHT
TIME FOR FANCY FEAST... I'LL PUT IT ON THE FLOOR
SIT BACK AND JUST RELAX 'CAUSE FLUFFY'S HOME, WON'T BE WORRYING ANY MORE

Hi Sol!
Ha! I was initially anticipating ‘Nightstalker’ vibes. The music certainly conjured that up - using that motif on guitar, e-piano etc.
Here in my home city, there’s a curfew because the kill rate of native wildlife is huge, so it’s not your loved one you should worry about!
Good song!

Glad you were surprised at the end. I like that song style because it's so simple yet effective ( I think).

Hi, Sol.

The rattle of the collar at 2:36 had me laughing. laugh

Cool write! This line:

But when it gets this late... Background Vocals:Three O'clock...

also cracked me up.

Fun song! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I guessed it around line 5 or 6 - but that did not spoil the fun.
What a great song! Loved the concept. Lyrics, backing band, and sound fx mesh perfectly. And those ultra smooth vocals are the icing on the cake.

Well done.

Very clever Sol. Great groove and chord progression topped off with an outstanding vocal. Super lyrics!
I really enjoyed this and I'm glad that this wasn't a cat-astrofic adventure.

OK, a random thought;

Great job, ya got me good! Good thing you said not to read the lyrics first because that's what I normally do. Payoff was worth it, got a big grin on my face!

Glad you followed directions and didn't read the lyrics first. I debated even putting the lyrics on there because I thought some people might read them first and mess up the surprise. Anyway, glad you like the song. I had fun writing it.

How many times has quarter-to-three shown up in a Blues song? Excellent vocal and guitar, Sol. I followed your directions and was very glad I did. I caught on a little before the end, but what a great twist.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thank you. I was hoping that people would follow directions and not read the lyrics first. Thanks for following directions and I'm glad you liked the song.

I enjoyed that, Sol, musically and mentally imagining my cat Tigerlily starring in the video. She's a house cat, though, so no city streetwalkin' for her. Very clever. Have you heard of Xylophone Cat ?

I really like the instrumentation, arrangement, mix and production, plus the vocals are great, but I was disappointed by the end lyrics as I think the strength of the earlier verses were let down by the girl being a cat.

Some favourite Waoist Adages:
#1: Play on the Way.
#13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you.
#58: Bring consciousness to it.
#63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made.
#92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Glad you liked the song and, it's interesting that you were disappointed at the ending. The thought that it be a real person to continue the song never occurred to me.... and now as I think about it, I'm wondering how I would have ended the song and what the story would have been. I guess I just liked the idea of an unexpected ending.
