Before BIAB included stem splitting, I was using a tool at splitter.ai--and was very happy with the results. Since that feature is now in BIAB (and I also see it in Suno) -- I wonder if they are all the same technology, just licensed. Reason I'm asking is that I've NOT been happy with the BIAB feature--it seems to result in alot of artifacts in the split tracks, and I wonder if it's just PG's version. I haven't gone back and compared to splitter.ai, but curious if anyone has any comments on this.

It might be worth trying out some other tools like SongMaster Pro etc. They have a full trail version, just do download and test, and it is very easy to use (just drag and drop, stems can be exported as well) SongMaster Pro

alot of artifacts in the split tracks Ya, I have that same complaint with lots of splitters. At first we were all so impressed by the fact that "splitting" was even possible, but over the months I have come to the point where I am hearing artifacts in all of these. Many times it is a show stopper.

The current issue with ALL of the stem splitters is that they are using a subtractive model. When they split out the tracks.... the ones that come out the best are the ones with no competition in that part of the sonic landscape. These tend to be the vocals, bass, and drums, although not always. Even the drums and bass tend to come out sounding a bit "fuzzy" or "mushy" as opposed to solid tracks, but slightly less so than things like the guitars and pianos.
Until they are able to rebuild a solid track, as opposed to cobbling the bits together of the extracted track, you really won't have a good quality stem splitter.
It's for this reason, the subtractive issue, that I actually prefer to replace the extracted tracks with either BB tracks or my own recorded instruments.
