B.D.,

This is a very beautiful song.
The sadness is palpable.
I can also understand why you chose a drumless arrangement.
Every time I listen to your songs, I realize what a very talented melody maker you are.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.
The video was also wonderful.

Best regards.

Sound-wise this is such a BEAUTIFUL song - I think it's the most beautiful song I've ever heard on this forum - it's almost a shame that it's a sad one! I'm stunned that you can get such perfect AI vocals which vary inflection and sound so pure and real when most that I hear sound flat and bland - though Suno is far superior to SynthV.

"After much discussion and consideration, I've come to the conclusion that it's not good for the future of this forum to post songs where most of the tracks were created with AI."

There's no doubt at all that Suno produces top quality modern studio sound, but I agree with your conclusion. This forum is for demonstrating BiaB's capabilities, but I've seen so many Suno posts of late that if not to some degree checked it could end up being predominantly a Suno forum. I'm 'unluckily lucky' that I don't have enough disk space on my PC to download Suno - plus I'm against using any programme which requires continuous fees - plus even though I know that I'd get much more professional results also using Suno I don't want to end up thinking, "Yes, that's great, but it's now only 10% my work." I see my BiaB music as a weak parallel to composers such as Morricone. Such composers mostly don't play any of the instruments themselves, but use other musicians, so my works are my own compositions starting with an original idea, then I audition sampled musicians and select the samples I want to use, the only downside is that I can't tell a soloist to change the way they're playing. But any work is my composition, my arrangement/orchestration and my mix - it's unique and no-one can reproduce exactly what I've created - but although Suno is very tempting I'd feel that if I used it I'd be handing creative power over to a machine.

Some favourite Waoist Adages:
#1: Play on the Way.
#13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you.
#58: Bring consciousness to it.
#63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made.
#92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Hi Brain,

You've always impressed me with your kind of songs. I'm not a huge fan of AI vocals, but your performances are truly high quality!
I find some songs more emotional than others, but they're always interesting! I think I've immediately pinned your "AI music" to my browser so I can enjoy it more in the meantime.

Then I heard this beautiful song! I wanted to comment on it, but suddenly had to. And then I couldn't find it anymore and forgot the title. Now I can, on the forum! Like I said, it's a beautiful, emotional song. Not a hit, I think, but very beautiful nonetheless.

Well, I can't find any more compliments at the moment, so you'll have to make do with this. I won't complain that you don't give my songs many compliments. That's my fault, I guess. I should have experimented more with AI, but unfortunately, that's not my thing...

Bye,
Hans

Hi, B.D.

Very pretty song. The quiet approach is very effective in keeping my attention.

Top marks on everything here.

Hi Brian, what a very beautiful, well-constructed song! Loved the AI lead and background vocals, and the dramatic synth swells. The production and mix sounds wonderful. Bravo!

Wow! Starts beautifully with whispering voice and the lyrics paint a cold-hearted image of home. I was waiting for the wall of heavy guitars and metal drums to kick in but for some strange reason they never showed up, that must be a personal hell laugh

So, the song relies heavily on both lyrics and the vocalist. And that's where the song really excels. This might be the first time I have heard your touch in Suno vocals, excellent control of the voice. Enjoyable chorus melody just shows her ABBA-esque loveliness.

"The horizon bends inward/As if the world has given up" & "Guilt drips through the ceiling/Pooling in corners I cannot reach" - excellent poetry, very dark and deep from the house of horror wink

The guitar sounds like a ticking clock, but with direction. The sparse use of BIAB instruments just highlights how well you have chosen them to fit your vision.

The quieter bridge and then some added dynamics in the end lifts up from the river of sleep. And I like the open ending, leaves uncomfortable feeling.

I can feel the time and effort used and frustration felt while making this song and I truly admire how your hard work has produced another masterpiece. You are the big producer of sad songs and I'm the happy consumer of them smile

The sad lyric is strong especially this:
“The keys of the piano sound different now
Their notes bend under the weight of my pain
The clock hands move, but without direction
As if time itself refuses to go on without you”

Excellent band … you and the session guys.

“No power-vocals, just a fragile girl who regrets.”
Power vocals would have, in our opinion, sucked the soul and feeling right out.
What you’ve done with AI vocal is, as always, so good and the dynamics are very effective.
Perhaps the best we've heard.

Great mix and soundstage on the monitors.

Mrs. Inspiration did her magic for you!

FYI - many years ago a discussion on what could be posted on this forum, some wanted only tracks that used BiaB. I was one whom replaced BiaB tracks with my own. It was determined back then that any song that started in BiaB, regardless if any of those tracks remained, was OK to post. I will assume that still is the policy.
Thanks, Mario.

Hi BDT,

This is spectacular in every possible way. I really, really love your arrangement and its production. You sure know how to get the absolute most out instrumentation, edits, dials and sliders. And your writing! Wow! These lyrics and this melody are first class. You are certainly a musician who radiates musicianship in all that you do.

These vocals sounded human to me and were a hand-in-glove fit with the mood of the song. Perfect!
