Latest from us, Chris Spruit on vocal: EDIT: I've spent the last couple of days learning some of the new features in Ozone12 and Neutron 5, and have done a new mix. Here it is on ReverbNation, YouTube still has the original mix. Two Lost Souls The band:4856:Organ, Rhythm SoulJazzGroovinFunkRHComping Ev 100 4883:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm SoulJazzGroovinSlowFunk Ev 100 Drums and Percussion: EZDrummer3 Marty Straub (BabuMusic) on bass guitar I played the lead guitar Mixed in Reaper using plugins from iZotope and Waves, mastered with Ozone12. Video clips are from pixabay.com, song graphic generated by Microsoft Designer. Two Lost Souls (2025, Chris Spruit)We fell from the sky, no wings, no way Carried by the wind, driftin' through the gray Two echoes in the dark, two Souls apart Just shadows in the night, Chasing something we can’t find In the silence, we collide, Two lost souls on Earth tonight
We were born of stars, but here we are, Walking through the fire, Walking that far We'll find our way One step at a time We are two Souls in the dark making light shine
This space trip ends on wasted land with broken wings we cannot mend the universe aligned, two lost souls, one state of mind
We travel in time home's reflecting in our eyes from ashes we arise, Two lost souls on Earth tonight
We were born of stars, and still we are walking through fire, with our hearts unbarred We'll find our way, one spark at a time We are two souls, learning to ShineThanks to everyone who takes the time to listen and comment!

Dave, uber cool, slithery magic once again by you, Marty and Chris. Every note and every beat sound perfect to me. Always love your tasteful playing and gnarly tone. Marty's bass pulses and percolates in glorious ways. Chris' vocals are warm and soulful. And she's written a crafty vehicle for all of you to zip along in. Well done!

Dave, Chris & Marty,
A new favorite for me! LOVE the melody and flow on this one. Chris has such a smooth delivery, punctuated by your very cool guitar tones. Marty's bass sounds round and warm - perfect for this piece.
I also wanted to mention the mix. This song has so much air and lightness, but is big and full at the same time. Really wonderful.
Loved it all!
Bob

Another fine effort from Blue Attitude, I especially like the lyrics Chris penned for this one. And English isn't even her first language, that's amazing. Sort of like Joseph Conrad. Great work, all!

As much as I appreciate the solo work of you three, when I listen to the band, the old saying "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts" comes to mind. Excellent song, perfect guitar, a bass that holds everything together, and it's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of Chris' vocals. Love the song, and love the production. Perfection ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

Hi Dave - another good blues track from the three of you! I’m interested in how you develop the recording - does Chris give you a rough demo, then you make the backing, Marty adds his bass then Chris adds her vocals? Does the song ever change/evolve through this process? Just wondering. Andrew

Hi Ron, Just to clarify; the music for the songs we do comes from me, I send Chris a basic music bed and she comes up with the melody and lyrics. Of course the bed can and often does change as the song is being developed. Happy you liked it and thanks for the kind words, we have an absolute blast working on these songs together!

Dave, Chris & Marty, you know that I love the blues and this blues song is as professionally played and sang as any blues song on this earth. Outstanding song, everything is perfect. Loved it

What can a chap say, except that it's a 5 Star song from 2 found souls and, quite frankly, it's TOTES AMAZEBALLS!
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Very convincing in this genre. Even if it's not my favourite one, your production is pleasent to listen: well produced, soulful vocals, good guitar solos, groove!

Enjoyed the starborn lyrics with profound storytelling through time and the universe.
What a great band, the guitar playing is stellar, Marty's bassline fits perfectly to the trippy theme. The organ and the drums ensure Blue Attitude's signature sound.
The vocal effect slightly distances the vocals from the band, same happens with the lead guitar in the end, paid attention to those on first listenings, but now I feel they nicely "expand the space".
Quality blues to Black Weekend, "making light shine".
Janne

Man, I can't tell ya how cool it is to play with my favorite guitarist and favorite singer. Thanks to all who mentioned my contribution. Yes, Dave, I like the Reverbnation mix better. Too bad YT won't let us swap out the music.

Hi Dave - another good blues track from the three of you! I’m interested in how you develop the recording - does Chris give you a rough demo, then you make the backing, Marty adds his bass then Chris adds her vocals? Does the song ever change/evolve through this process? Just wondering. Andrew Hey Andrew, To answer your question about our process: Most of the Blue Attitude songs I've done with Chris, and all of the ones we have done in the last five years, have started with me. I develop the song idea and the basic structure, verse, chorus, bridge, etc., and send it to her. At that point it's all BIAB and maybe some guitar from me. Chris then comes up with the melody and lyrics. The structure may change at this point, she may want to add more verses for example, or may want the chorus in a different spot, etc., and I change the BIAB bed accordingly. She then records her vocal and sends me the raw WAV file which I add to the project. I then record all my guitar parts and may build a new drum track with EZDrummer. Then I render out the song with the BIAB bass track muted and Marty does his thing, he likes to go last. Thanks for the listen!
