Tone generators? How come nobody ever told me about such things? Might go and look them up on YT. Tone generators are synths without the keyboard. When I was gigging I had three tone generators that were played via my guitar MIDI controller. Now I use my MIDI controllers on VSTis, i.e. breath, keyboard, guitar, and/or wind controllers. {edit} here is a Yamaha TX81Z tone generator that I have: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_TX81Z
