Super documentary! Dave was supremely gifted, and seems like a nice guy as well. My favorite quote was near the end where he reflect that everything he learned is from before 1950. That's not surprising, there were some good years in there.
The performance footage in the documentary is all from his later years, but he was quite a bit more dynamic in his heyday. Look up the "My Attorney Bernie" Tonight Show performance, where he forgets his own lyrics at the end. It's STILL brilliant.
THANKS for posting, Tom. You're songs do remind me of Dave's in all the best ways.
