I'm familiar with John Vere since he is a frequent poster on the Bandlab forum. He makes a lot of interesting videos.

I have a lifetime license for ChordPulse. The interface is the easiest music generation interface I've ever used. ChordPulse allows you to add chords while it in playback mode. ChordPulse is MIDI only and will only use the Microsoft wavetable for instrument patches. The program is Windows only (I think) and is seldom updated; but doesn't need many updates since what it does it does very, very well.

Evidently John was not aware that most RealTracks include MIDI transcription and that partial regeneration coupled with Playable RealTracks allow RealTracks to be edited similar to MIDI tracks.
