"After much discussion and consideration, I've come to the conclusion that it's not good for the future of this forum to post songs where most of the tracks were created with AI."

There's no doubt at all that Suno produces top quality modern studio sound, but I agree with your conclusion. This forum is for demonstrating BiaB's capabilities, but I've seen so many Suno posts of late that if not to some degree checked it could end up being predominantly a Suno forum. I'm 'unluckily lucky' that I don't have enough disk space on my PC to download Suno - plus I'm against using any programme which requires continuous fees - plus even though I know that I'd get much more professional results also using Suno I don't want to end up thinking, "Yes, that's great, but it's now only 10% my work." I see my BiaB music as a weak parallel to composers such as Morricone. Such composers mostly don't play any of the instruments themselves, but use other musicians, so my works are my own compositions starting with an original idea, then I audition sampled musicians and select the samples I want to use, the only downside is that I can't tell a soloist to change the way they're playing. But any work is my composition, my arrangement/orchestration and my mix - it's unique and no-one can reproduce exactly what I've created - but although Suno is very tempting I'd feel that if I used it I'd be handing creative power over to a machine.

I've always been a fan of sad songs with beautiful melodies, which is probably why I do that a lot.

BTW, it takes a lot of effort to make vocals sound as if they didn't take a lot of effort smile
Suno, Synthesizer V, real singers (unless you find a REALLY good one), this applies to all singers.

I find some songs more emotional than others, but they're always interesting! I think I've immediately pinned your "AI music" to my browser so I can enjoy it more in the meantime.

Then I heard this beautiful song! I wanted to comment on it, but suddenly had to. And then I couldn't find it anymore and forgot the title. Now I can, on the forum! Like I said, it's a beautiful, emotional song. Not a hit, I think, but very beautiful nonetheless.

Well, I can't find any more compliments at the moment, so you'll have to make do with this. I won't complain that you don't give my songs many compliments. That's my fault, I guess. I should have experimented more with AI, but unfortunately, that's not my thing...

Bye,
Hans
Thank you very much, Hans, for your really nice compliments.
I really appreciate it [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

For anyone wondering about Hans' last two sentences: We talked about it, and it was a misunderstanding that was mainly my fault.

Thanks, David.
I gladly take "top mark" smile

My piano piece from which I took the main motif is 3:54 minutes long, so actually an entire piano-song is gone.
But the clean guitar arpeggios work SO much better, and if it's best for a song to let things go, I let 'em go.

Well.... I'll say two things.

1. I wholeheartedly agree with Pat Marr. 100% spot on.

2. This is an exquisite mix. Superbly done.

Thanks a lot, Bob smile

BTW (just because this is often confused):
The BG vocals are created using Synthesizer V, which uses AI technology to blend words and phonemes and stuff (something that BIAB should have for its RealTracks), but is not the same as the vocals from Suno et al.
You still have to enter every note and every syllable by hand to get the vocals.

So, the song relies heavily on both lyrics and the vocalist. And that's where the song really excels. This might be the first time I have heard your touch in Suno vocals, excellent control of the voice. Enjoyable chorus melody just shows her ABBA-esque loveliness.

"The horizon bends inward/As if the world has given up" & "Guilt drips through the ceiling/Pooling in corners I cannot reach" - excellent poetry, very dark and deep from the house of horror wink

The guitar sounds like a ticking clock, but with direction. The sparse use of BIAB instruments just highlights how well you have chosen them to fit your vision.

The quieter bridge and then some added dynamics in the end lifts up from the river of sleep. And I like the open ending, leaves uncomfortable feeling.

I can feel the time and effort used and frustration felt while making this song and I truly admire how your hard work has produced another masterpiece. You are the big producer of sad songs and I'm the happy consumer of them smile

Janne
Thanks for listening and for taking the time to write such a long review, Janne.
Highly appreciated!

The next sad song is already in the works smile

“No power-vocals, just a fragile girl who regrets.”
Power vocals would have, in our opinion, sucked the soul and feeling right out.
What you’ve done with AI vocal is, as always, so good and the dynamics are very effective.
Perhaps the best we've heard.

Great mix and soundstage on the monitors.

Mrs. Inspiration did her magic for you!

B.D.Thomas,

First of all, you've done a super job putting this together and ending up with a perfect sounding track!
As for those who have a problem with forum members posting material with limited BIAB content, they should accept the fact that BIAB is a musical tool that can play a major or minor role in getting what we hear in our heads into a tangible form! On several occasions I have posted songs with maybe 1 realtrack involved and played the rest of it myself and possibly added a third-party loop of some kind!
As for the use of AI in the production for me the same logic applies as written above! While I personally have no desire to use it, I certainly understand that some of us feel that the material deserves the best possible tools available to get the desired sound!
You always post excellent work and this is another example of that!

Take care, TB

And doubly glad that you mention "emotional", even though (as I suspect) you're not a big fan of AI-generated voices.
But to achieve that, a ton of manual automation (mainly volume and EQ) was involved smile

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
