This 10:47 'video yarn' with a BiaB soundtrack is a cross between a slideshow and a silent movie as the story is told in written captions in between the still images, thus the bigger your monitor screen the easier it'll be to read.
It's the story of 4 adult human Immortals who never age and who though immortal are well below the level of gods. Starting in the 1940s two female Immortals fall completely in love with a male Immortal who famed for his amorous adventures gained the epithet 'the Casanova Rova', however just before the two 'sirens' fell for him he'd finally found the Immortal female of his dreams and thus he resists their advances. But how will the story end?
This yarn, never previously posted here, is a remix of a July 2023 YouTube post, which itself is a shortened version of the original 2022 post which was much longer and had a non-BiaB soundtrack. It had a different ending, plus was followed by a poor quality 1974 cassette tape recording of myself and a friend singing one of my 'art deco' period songs called "Casanova Rova" ~ 'art deco' meaning songs and other voice recordings which were inspired by art deco and music mainly from the 1920s to 40s. I made the video as an excuse to add the song at the end, but it was such a poor quality recording I finally deleted it and rewrote the video; then this new recording is due to the original having stereo channels the wrong way around after my PC had been hacked in 2022.
Re the BiaB soundtrack, "Venus Walks [prototype]" was originally titled "Venus Walks V1", which has since been redone and I was going to delete this one along with other single Style instrumentals I created when first using BiaB, but when I tried different instrumentals for this soundtrack none of them worked as well, so I've kept it. The 2nd soundtrack piece is "Baby Be Mine Tonight V1".
"Venus Walks [prototype]" is all 'Country Rock, Guitar Solo Pop Ba': Drums: Brian Fullen Bass guitar: Tobin Frank Organ: Gene Rabbai Rhythm guitar: Darin Favorite Lead guitar: Brent Mason
"Baby Be Mine Tonight V1" Piano: Solo Acoustic Piano Ballad ~ John Jarvis Bass guitar: Dreamy Pop Quintet ~ Tobin Frank Drums: Ditto ~ Brian Fullen Organ: Dreamy Pop Quintet ~ Gene Rabbai Tenor Sax Solo: Slow Country Pop w/ Tenor Solo ~ Mark Douthit Guitar Solo: Modern Groove Soloist, Brit Rock ~ Dave Cleveland
The original 2022 video was posted on YouTube and then on SoundCloud and 2 FB pages. The 2023 shorter version - the same as this one except that the stereo channels were reversed - was also posted on the latter, plus on MeWe and a 3rd FB page, but I've since deleted it from SoundCloud along with a few others of my BiaB compositions due to length as I don't pay for SC. The reason I mention this is that I recently discovered that this forum censored the word "a-s-s" - a bit OTT in itself - and so might censor this video due to one of the outfits worn by the two pursuers of the Casanova Rova, but no other site has ever had a problem with it. There's no nudity or profanity in the video.
PS: the only reason I decided to post this video is because while I have the vocal version of "Venus Twinkles" ready to post, the instrumental has kept on coming back to the top of the thread despite that I've posted 2 other instrumentals since then (early October) and I don't want the 2 versions to be confused.

An interesting story coupled with an ideal backing soundscape. I think it's the longest track I've heard since Arlo Guthrie's anti-war themed "Alice's Restaurant" (1967).
A very inspired track and a very quick 10 minutes. There is so much going on musically that I did not even notice the track length. A great arrangement and an excellent mix as usual.
Loved that guitar in the first segment. The piano intro into the second segment was fantastic. Outstanding organ, time signatures, drums, bass, sax, guitar, and arrangement. Although the song was 10 minutes you keep my interest all through it: 10 minutes went by very quickly. The video was perfect for the sound track. Loved it.
Thanks, Mario! "The video was perfect for the sound track." Surely it's the other way around!

Appreciated Ghostgum! The soundtrack is 2 instrumentals, so each one is a lot shorter than "Alice's Restaurant". But since then there have been oodles of recordings lasting longer than 10-11 minutes. Side 2 of Love's 1967 "Da Capo" album is a single track at 19:04; BS&T's 1969 "Blues Paer2" is 11:45; Franck Zappa's" Gumbo Variations (69 or 70) is 12:55; plus bands like the Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd must have done a lot of stuff over 11 minutes long. Neil Young has done 3 songs longer than 10 minutes: "Cowgirl In the Sand" 10:09; "Natural Beauty2 10:23; and "Change Your Mind" 14:40. There must be lots more bands, particularly rock and jazz, who have far exceeded 11 minute tracks. My longest instrumental is "Sophia Loves V2: Gnosis of Love" at 7:30.

I like you music...gentle and clean with nice mixes. The visuals, unfortunately, leave me cold. I scrolled down to type & enjoyed the experience much more.

Thanks, Bob! Both instrumentals in the soundtrack are nearly 3 years old, so neither are new.

Appreciated, Ray. The visuals are very much a matter of taste. I've had very postive to negative reactions to my artwork, which I understand as there are some graphics I loathe, such as today's animations, including those in TV series and popular movies. I much prefer the old style cartoons.

This guy grew up in the Bronx, right? \Haha. Cool story, and a great way to present it, Chay. It's really incredible how you manage so much in your instrumentals, and mix everything so well. You will be posting the one with vocals soon, right? Even in your vocal posts I listen intently to the instruments you chose. Always fun. I like how this one had the false ending, and the piano brought it back to a new rewarding life. Of course the drums and the rest of the band grabbed the new uplifting feeling, which eventually the sax couldn't resist. You're a sucker for happy endings, aren't ya?
Enjoy whatever happens! marty

Thanks, Marty! I'll be uploading the vocal version of Venus Twinkles" to YouTube in the next few days. Lucy's doing the vocals again and the title will probably be "Venus Twinkles [Lady of Love]" to differentiate it from the instrumental. The lyrics will be in the video. Re happy endings, I realised a few decades ago that all of my fiction writing has been a form of compensation for either what doesn't come up to expected standards in my life, or for what is lacking. The 3 books I have out - the trilogy-length epic under my name and 2 novellas under a pseudonym - all have happy endings. Since the Year of My Snafu Catch 2022 in which everything that could go wrong did go wrong and I ended up in this way too small retirement flat with plasterboard walls separating me from the neighbouring flat - which prevents me playing guitar and ludicrously limits my own vocal recording - and which also turned out to be haunted, it's hard to have faith that there can be a happy ending. So expect more musical happy endings! In the pipeline I've now got a rough/demo of a rock versions of "VT" with mine and Lucy's vocals together, but my vocals are from the demo I sent her and so need to be improved; plus I have a musically finished song from spring 2024 which just needs a better vocal track from me. I've been delayed getting a vocal demo of another song ready for Denisse (of "Flowing Lady Deya [rock version]") since the same period - all 3 latter have very happy endings - plus I've also got the BiaB music for the vocal version of my 1974 song "Baby Be Mine Tonight" (as in the above video) which is just happy throughout. So I'm very disappointed with where I live as for so long I've only managed to record 2 vocal demos which I've had to sing in hushed tones. I'm hoping my neighbour will be invited away for this Xmas as I could get so much done.

As always great use of RT’s. Especially the solos that sound as though you and the session guy worked together. Regarding the length, well, we’re fans of blues rock where long songs are the standard.
The mix is excellent and the whole notion was a great way to deliver the narrative.
“And they all lived happily ever after.” Yes!!
Enjoyed it all,

Chay, nice composition. Know I've listened to versions of at least parts of this before, as the theme is quite unique and very memorable. Super instrument choices and mix. Particularly liked the change of pace about 2/3 of the way in.
Found the story hard to get into, and it lost me around the intro of the "love-nuns". Glad they all lived happily ever after just the same.

TBH, I was dreading 10+ minutes, but it went by fast. I enjoyed it, both the music and the movie. Looking forward to your previous project's vocal, wondering what that will sound like. Good work here.

Chay, This is terrific "background music". You can put this on and just "let it play" Cool guitar. Cool piano. Bass sounds good. Nice mix. fj
Thanks, Floyd! Had the 1st track of the soundtrack not worked so well with this video I'd have deleted, so I'm now glad I didn't.

Thanks, Ron. Video story-wise, for some it's just not to their tastes, but as with every track of music posted here and heard elsewhere for the first time sometimes one is just not in the zone for it. I've often heard music for the first time that's not just touched me, then weeks or months later I hear it again and I'm in the zone for it I think it's great. The same applies to movies as I've seen some I've not like or even though were crap the first time around, then months later I see it again and I get into it.
