Noel is correct. To answer your latest question, ALL styles that I have tried will insert the specified instrument shot at the designated spots. If you want to exclude some instruments, the ALT-F5 menu is handy. For example, you could just have the guitars and/or pianos do shots, and have the drum play through without stopping. If you're practicing bass, you could mute the bass track altogether. Lots of options for getting a nice practice track.
