OK very cool, let's see if I get this. Open the style picker. Click on the instrument header in the RT or MIDI tab to get lists of a style with the instrument you might want to hear as the shot. Then look in the shots column to see if that style with that instrument has the shots feature. Then try one and maybe find an instrument which is truly a short shot. Sound like I am on track?
