I added bass and vocal. One NightOne night there was rainbows and hope was in the air. She said, "Never in my life was there magic like this." And I said, "I have more to share." Then the rainbow kissed her face and I had no time to waste. I held her by the waist and pulled her close. She looked into my eyes; I melted in the sight. I puckered up my lips and then I froze. One night we were singing along the waters edge. She said, "I just love the feel of the sand through my hands." And I said, "I think we should wed." Then the moonlight shined so bright, and we knew that this was right. We called the preacher then to set the date. The invitations out, we never had a doubt. We counted down the days. We couldn't wait. Time flew by and so did she. When I asked why, she claimed it just couldn't be. One night it was over, and one day I'll look back and say, "There's a lesson to be learned and we're better off now." I guess there was no other way. Well, I must be moving on and accept that she is gone. The future that I see can still be bright. I need to find a friend who will stay until the end, and all it takes is just one night. One night. Hi Marty I especially like the interlude at 1:38, very well done in this beautiful song, with its usual great video. Laurent

Nice one, Marty! Snappy opening and infectious groove that hits quickly. Excellent bass and vocals. Great job with the BiaB guitar soloist/fills. Insanely good bridge (interlude?) and crystal clear mix. You make this sound SO effortless and smooth.

I really like the cadence of the lines, and of course, your singing was perfect. Why'd she split? IMWTK. Oh well, made for a good song. Excellent work as always.

Hi there Marty,
You know I could imagine Elvis singing this…… Elvis Costello. Perhaps not quite like “Alison”, but certainly in that soft, low key approach he had on a couple of songs. Really liked that robotic vocal in the break/bridge… thought you were going to break into a rendition of “Mr Blue Sky” with it!! Another good write and production from you.
Kind regards.

Hi Marty I especially like the interlude at 1:38, very well done in this beautiful song, with its usual great video. Laurent Thanks, Laurent. That part was the "passing of time" part. In the movies they would have wavey video and some harp strings or something. Hey Marty this is great! Been listening to a lot of songs on my phone while I'm out and about this weekend and this certainly is one of the great ones that I've heard!
Good job on everything man. Happy holidays! David!! Thanks much. Happy holidays to you too. My favorite Christmas albums currently are one from Gayle, one from Greg Johnson, and a bunch from James Delsono. Marty, Another great one! You consistently come up with great rock, blues & pop songs. Great vocals, bass and an outstanding mix. I also love the arrangement on this song. Cool pacing and groove. You always hit it just right. Bob Thanks, Bob. That's a huge compliment.

Marty,
I always find your songs so entertaining! The lyrics are great....painting quite a picture! Nice little vocal effects treatment in the middle...I'll have to borrow that on a future tune! Vocals and bass work are fantastic!
Take care, TB

Boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy loves girl, girl gets over it. Feel free to substitute any gender you'd prefer. LGBTQ+ meets LGBTQ+, LGBTQ+ gets LGBTQ+, LGBTQ+ loves LGBTQ+, LGBTQ+ gets over it? I love how you always sing so positively about sad things. It makes me smile every time. I think your statement on YouTube "I can't sing for crap" should be reconsidered, because I think your voice is getting better and better with age. Like a good French wine! Love the song, the production, and especially your vocals. Great ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

Well, I can tell ya for a fact that The Enquirer has no clue, Bob. But here's the skinny: One night she was painting the night sky and ran out of indigo. The rest is his story.
Ha, I could get along with Costello better than Abbot. But who was on first? The King. Ha, I like your direction there, Lee. Mr. Blue Sky. Excellent choice. As Mario would say, "What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?" Happy Christmas, man. Glad you're here. ....girl gets over it. HAHAHA
Mmmm, sweet bass. Good BAND. Had to look back to see what that solo was...nice... Good mix. Well sung.
fj Thanks, Floyd. Yep. She got over it. The sand in her hands was wet and dirty --lost its luster, Buster. Marty,
I always find your songs so entertaining! The lyrics are great....painting quite a picture! Nice little vocal effects treatment in the middle...I'll have to borrow that on a future tune! Vocals and bass work are fantastic!
Take care, TB Thanks, Torrey. Funny, I just finished another one with similar Bridge treatment. I'd much prefer to hear what you come up with.

Enjoyed it.

Marty,
It's a mysterious song where sadness and hope coexist. Your vocals express those emotions very well. The guitar solo in the interlude is a great touch. As always, your video was a great help in understanding the lyrics. Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.
Best regards.
