Going back to the complexity I think PG needs to look at the help they provide as part of the program. There are tons of videos and articles on the web site but there isn't a really good video series of how to build up a song using the main features. Agree. Personally I've found Henry Clarke's YouTube channel more helpful in that aspect. They'll most or all be the pre-2026 GUI of course. They don't suit everyone,but do suit many.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe
This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
