Remember Roe versus Wade? Final law right! Well, not even. Good analogy. That was a court decision, never a law. Congress coulda' shoulda' codified that— or something—into law but never did. So much of Copyright is in that same legal limbo. When rewriting the Copyright Act in 1976, did we address the PROs? Nope. We let the Consent Decrees from 1939 stand even though they only covered ASCAP and BMI. Still a big mess.

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe
This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
