"Ctrl F8 doesn't eliminate the problems I am talking about".
I was actually replying to Shawn, but...
Have you spent time with Ctrl+F8 method? If so, how long? 2-10 minutes or longer? I used it for many hours, different instruments. Rhythm and soloists, to my taste it is the most powerful tool BIAB has to offer as far as partial regens go. I've used it but not loads, maybe it's something I'll experiment more with. I get a bit irritated with the screen moving around with auto-scroll when zoomed in, something a lot of developers need to understand IMO, not just PG. I'm prepared to try things and maybe I'll find some methods are better when I get used to them, however, I still think the edit phrase is a must have, you can tweak things in ways that can't be done with any other method.
