Thank you Janne! I am glad you enjoyed it. The chord progression had instant appeal to me when I was noodling during writing. Usually, I start with a chord progression. I have three on the go at the moment - two remixes and a new one - not sure what will be released first.
All the best to you for 2026!

Hi Andrew,

A bit late to the party, but better late than never!

Good song, sort of a 60s pop vibe happening. I like the changes and the way it builds. Strong chorus!

Best to you for 2026!

Hi, Andrew.

I'm late to the party too, but I'm glad I made it!

This is a nice bit of pop - very 60s! I sort of listened to the lyrics, but not too hard because the groove had me bopping along.

Nice harmonies and bits on the piano. The descending bass line on the chorus works well, to support the catchy melody.

Cool earworm! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thanks Dave! A few have commented about the 60s vibe to my songs – I guess I’ve been immersed in that soup for some time, so it’s bound to come out. I’m working on a 90s song at the moment, so we’ll see how that one comes out.
Thanks for listening!
Andrew
PS Good pic of you with John Bonamassa (in another thread).

Thanks David – yeah, don’t listen to the lyrics too hard – they might not make sense. Besides, they are just the vehicle for the music.
‘Cool earworm’ or do you mean ‘cool neural worm’? Ha ha! Just joking. wink
Thanks for listening!

In a way, it's a cheerful song, Andrew! Despite most of the lyrics. The choruses especially gave me that feeling! I really liked that!

I think it's a really good song.
I do have a suggestion: Maybe, just maybe, it would be stronger if you didn't end so high too often (sing the endings of some lines lower or neutral).
But maybe others here on the forum disagree, or you don't. Then leave it as is, because the song is simply good.

A creative 2026, Andrew!
Hans

Thank you Hans! Re the high endings, this is what I like about this forum - others hear things that you yourself don’t. I am thinking of doing a final mix at some point in the future so I’ll give your suggestion a road test.
Glad you liked the song, and I have more lining up to be finalised soon so hopefully I’ll be able to post one per fortnight.
Looking forward to some good songs from you as well - coming out of your studio rebuild.
Happy new year!
Andrew

Nice one Andrew,
Good narrative and melody too.
Nice playing adds even more of you to the magic.

Sounds old, but not in a bad way.
Reminds me of something the Beatles might have done, probably because of your vocals and the way the bass line walks down in the chorus.

Cool groove to this song. Really liked the energy changes. Excellent vocal and lyric. The cool thing about BIAB is that it some how keeps everything interested so you still want to play after the novelty wears off. Then the music starts to flow. Happy New Year and look forward to hearing your knew songs.

Thanks Scott! I agree - BIAB enabled me to turn my song ideas into something I could demo - all the way back to the old midi version in 2001 and not forgetting my use of PowerTracks back in those days as well. Thanks for listening!

I really like this, Andrew. It's a large and thoughtful production with hooky progressions, and I love those walk-downs and walk-ups behind the vocals, especially in the chorus. Well done!

Yeah, I was pretty pleased with those ups and downs when the idea came during production - what I might call a creative ‘accident’.
