That is correct. I did not use the RTs. I used the MIDI charts and assigned various VSTis to them. I use MIDI as MIDI is much easier to modify than audio. For instance and I raise or lower a MIDI track many semitones and not get any artifacts. Or I can change the sound completely like taking a piano track and using a harp sound etc.

By my naive understanding in EZKeys, one has to create a song with the program with chords and styles. What does one do in such a case? Your description fascinates me, so I am curious with the what and why of these choices or substitutions.

In this song I used the EZKeys piano sound. I did not create an EZKeys track. I used the BiaB piano track and that gave the EZKeys what notes to play.

I have used an EZKeys generated track with BiaB but I have found it easier to do so in my Studio One Pro DAW. My workflow is to get the song structure done in BiaB (chords, style, groove) then bring those tracks into my DAW. I find working in my DAW much easier and less frustrating than working in BiaB. Others work completely in BiaB. Just choose the workflow that works best for you.

I hope this helps.

Hey MarioD I really found that interesting. Thanks for educating me about this hybrid work flow and how and why you do it. Amazing and creative.

OK, now I realize that you too, in this way, can use very realistic sounds like RTs by using very high quality VSTs that are based on samples of real instruments and apps like EZ keys. One just has to have a collection of these high quality sounds to use with the generated MIDI instructions out of BIAB.

Do you find the sonic quality of the VST instruments to be equal to the quality of the RTs? I suspect the answer will be yes, if the VST is a really well created one through samples and not synthesized. And not like the cheesy MIDI synthesizer sounds of yore. IRealPro still sounds this way to me.

And as for the guitar, that is nice and I had not heard of one before. I love the woody clean sound of guitars like this.

Cool as a cucumber man.

Very funny but also very groovy and very jazzy, very laid back.

Ah, not bad at all, Mario. This is really good. Terrific lyrics that only the writer can deliver with justice. Man, that guitar is also so good. Genius moments throughout. Not bad for a man of our age. (that's why I don't use pics)

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanx so much Marty for this very kind review. I'm not sure that if one did those things that are in the song, I'm taking the 5th if you ask, are genius moments but thanx for that comment anyway wink

Soundtrack to our lives right there Mario.

We’ve all been there. Enter a room and wonder, what was I going to do? My favourite is when I go to put the cereal packet in the fridge. Good song and nice solo in there.

Kind regards

No need to be apologetic about the vocal ... we much liked it.
And your instrumental performances and the most cool write.

Great arrangement and mix also.

LOVE, Love, love this!!

A clever and fun write, authentic and genuine and personal. The kind of song that people relate to and that generates strong emotions.

I think my favorite lyric is: "I will prove that I can still shred"

And you should not be apprehensive about singing your songs, Mario.

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas, Sir, and a blessed New Year!
