I'm in the process of changing several parts of the UI to a dark color scheme.

I make an adjustment and save it, then tweak something a little further which I want to save to the same color scheme, but I can't remember the exact name.
Could the Save Scheme dialog have a drop drown menu list (a TComboBox) of previous color schemes so I could select the correct one?

Thanks Noel, and I think it would be a very easy change, as the system already has stored the names of all the previously saved schemes. All they need is to just populate the combo with those names. An instant improvement smile

That's a great idea! Simple, fast to implement and very useful!

It would be great if this could be revisited. Thanks!

Sorry this should be just thrown out and the standard save as windows dialog should be used.
This solves many other problems with this approach.

Definitely not disagreeing with that. It's simply unfinished work at present. Needs an overhaul.

I believe they're still working on.
It also needs a search or to make the window non-modal so that it you can click on an object to identify its name.

After exploring how this works, I don't think that a 'Save as' standard Windows dialog can be used. I don't think that the schemes are saved as external files, but rather, they are stored within another configuration file.

Regardless, a populated list of existing scheme names is still required.

No, they are stored in the Data subdirectory and a subdirectory strangely called called Schemes.
The reason the MS standard file save needs to be used is there is no update command.
Because there’s no true Update command, the software forces you to use ‘Save As.’
You have to remember the exact name you used before, type it in manually, and only then get an overwrite prompt.
Ninety percent of the time you’re just trying to update an existing file.
They are aware that this workflow is awkward and I believe they will make it a standard save where you can see your files and what you named them previously.

...

Good pickup, Jeff. I used a search tool to search file contents (including binary files). Apparently the tool didn't include file names! (my bad).

So yes, a Windows Save As is really required, and would probably be more straightforward anyway.
