I know it's a new year, Happy New Year!, but I've been spending a fair amount of time in the past remixing the few songs I've previously shared, like this one, and releasing them on streaming platforms. Some of you will have heard this before. Truth be told, the situation hasn't changed, I still struggle to write songs. Far below I'll include the link to my OP from way back in 2014, should you be interested in that. Thanks for the spins and any feedback. Song Somewhere By Scott H. Scott,
That's an excellent song. I like the band a lot and your vocal is great. Really nice mix as well.
I particularly like these lines:
"I TRIED EVERY CHORD I SANG EVERY NOTE AND I FILLED THE WASTE BASKET WITH ALL THE TRASH I WROTE"
Great stuff!

I hate Banjos and Mandolins with a passion, but I've always had a soft spot for self-reflective songs about songs. That's why I like your song despite your dreadful choice of string instruments. A lot, to be honest

This sounds to me like someone who "knows what they're doing" - Not "someone who struggles". Very well written. Very well sung. Always enjoy hearing you sing. Such strength and clarity. Perfect for this kind of song. Nice use of BIAB. Also perfect for the song.
The mix sounds great. (No need to check the old one, just keep looking forward....).
Really enjoyed that, Scott.

Another great use of BiaB instrumentation. Totally relate to the lyrics!

Hi Scott
That’s a really well written and sung song you’ve got there. Your vocal delivery is so smooth and steady, I wish I could do the same. Great use of BIAB style and instruments, really suited the theme,
Excellent.

Ha! A most excellent song about not being able to write songs. The irony KILLS me!
Great use of those super fine bluegrass BiaB RealTracks and your vocals are off-the-charts.
Revisiting old songs can be a lot of fun. This one certainly sounds like fun was had.
Well done.

Hi Scott! Good vocals and great feel to this song - well put together with all the right elements.
It made me think - I’d appreciate if my song ideas greeted me front on more often, rather that sneaking up from behind, or arriving at a place where I have no guitar nor pen or paper. It can sometimes feel like catching clouds.

Scott, I was grinning from ear to ear as I listened to this outstanding song. Why? Because I can really relate to this song. That song in there somewhere came out in this masterpiece. Excellent vocal, outstanding lyrics, super backing band, and a great mix. Loved it

We and many, many others can easily relate to that! Great write.
The two of us have lately enjoyed remixing and/or remastering older productions.
The guitar G run made us smile. And took us back to our many years in bluegrass bands.
Great BiaB session guys, excellent vocals and a nice open mix with plenty of subtle dynamics.
Well done and we enjoyed it!

Scott,
This is a great country song. It's packed with banjo, mandolin, and fiddle - it's fun. I'm sure only Americans could write songs like this. Lately in Japan, the latest American country songs by artists like Beyoncé have been played a lot on radio. Country music is immortal. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

I enjoyed this much! Unlike Brian, I like hearing a good banjo. Your vocal is strong, resonant, and clear. "AND I FILLED THE WASTE BASKET WITH ALL THE TRASH I WROTE" I love that line.

Bob Thanks, Bob! I hate Banjos and Mandolins with a passion, but I've always had a soft spot for self-reflective songs about songs. That's why I like your song despite your dreadful choice of string instruments. A lot, to be honest Ha, ha:) Thanks! This song wasn't bluegrass until I started trying out BIAB Styles and Real Tracks. This sounds to me like someone who "knows what they're doing" - Not "someone who struggles". Very well written. Very well sung. Always enjoy hearing you sing. Such strength and clarity. Perfect for this kind of song. Nice use of BIAB. Also perfect for the song.

fj Thank you, Floyd. Truly. That means a lot coming from you. I suppose my struggles have more to do with finding something to write about and then finishing songs once they're started. You, on the other hand, have written what, hundreds of good songs? I can only aspire to reach your level.
