If you delete and move all the remaing data to fill in the blank, isn't that going to mess up the track's bar timeline as the track relates to the remaining tracks?
I'm guessing you are wanting BiaB to stretch the remaining midi to "fill in" the empty space while also continue to sound natural. Is that correct? My sentence "This would work on the MIDI in the track only and NOT song-wide" was meant to answer this, And yes I just want - in the case of (*in this track only*) deletion - the MIDI after the range to be deleted to move to the left. Why - well sometimes editing mistakes get made etc etc. This is a local ripple delete as opposed to global - just to avoid the other - typical tedious thing of manually selecting EVERY MIDI event after the to-be-deleted time-range and then..., very carefully,... dragging everything selected to the left. or vice-a-versa if wanting to insert a gap

Ripple delete is popularly used in video editing, but video isn't tied to a time signature, it's tied to a frame. Ripple delete in music audio that is already locked to a time signature could only realistically be done at bar level, maybe beat level. (There are other functions available that can delete bars etc) RE: "Ripple delete is popularly used in video editing..." sure- but its also available in DAWs like Ableton, Pro Tools and Cubase like I said!!! and in the best ones ripple delete is available either across the entire project "global" - or just for events inside a single track. Of course the actual naming for such features will vary. RE "There are other functions available that can delete bars etc" - yes but far as I can remember thats to deal with bars and time-regions in the whole song GLOBALLY. I am specifically just requesting a feature that makes life simple MIDI wise in only the currently edited track -

Hi!
although the last entry in this thread is dated quite a while ago, but since this thread is still sticky, I'd like to add my wishes for the piano roll:
The option to turn the roll by 90 degrees, and that the piano keys light up for the nexts coming notes - roughly explained.
So the piano roll could be used as a vertical note highway (notes fall down onto the keyboard) like in Synthesia. Mainly for the piano, keyboards and such, but also for many other instruments this would be very useful (I have even already practiced the drums with Synthesia, which is fun because of the specific view onto the relations between the rhythms of the different drumset pieces).
And in particular for all bad sightreaders this would be even more useful.
Specifically for the bass, I'd wish a bass fretboard instead of a piano on the bottom of the roll, with coloured strings and matching colours of the "falling notes" according to the bass tab - just as you can find this in Rocksmith or in ToneLib Jam. (And Guitar players might be happy about 6 stings, accordingly.)

BiaB UltraPak+ 2026; Windows 10 Bass: Intermediate; Piano: Beginner I came to this forum in order to suggest feature improvements for non-professional musicians like myself that use BiaB mainly as a playalong tool and as a learning tool
