I WonderI wonder what would happen if a guitarist was offered to write for an orchestra? Well now I do. I am way out of my comfort zone and in brand new territory for me. BiaB style - Emerald - Slow, Peaceful, 3/4 Orc Tempo 45 BPM Bass - Swam - Bass section Piano - Kontakt - Amadeus - violins Guitar - Kontakt - Amadeus - violas Strings - Kontakt - Solid State Orchestra Via my breath and keyboard controllers I am playing the following Swam instruments: 1- the French horns 1 & 2 2- the trumpet 3- the alto trombone 4- the violin 5- the viola 6- the bassoon 7- the oboe Via my keyboard controller I am playing the following: 1- Timpani 2- cymbals 3- gongs As always all comments are welcomed.

Well what I wonder is how you maintain such an inexhaustible depth of wonder-full imagination and creativity!
I was totally immersed in your beautiful piece. The New York Philharmonic should be beating a path to your door as we speak.
My ears applaud as you take a bow.
Izzy.
PS I have heard you sing a number of times now and you have quite a rich, resonate voice _ More please.

What an outstanding composition, Mario. There is so much and so many good Mario moments in there. You really outdid yourselves on this one. Love how you worked the timpani and gong --very effective. Wow, some incredible uses of bassoon and oboe and trumpet and French horn. Heck, this whole piece is stupendously brilliant. Man, you can bring out mood and mood-changes. This is a great soundtrack to whatever one can imagine.

Amazingly creative piece, Mario! You did brilliantly with the Swam instrumentation and I particularly love the bassoon & oboes. I want both in BiaB!

Mario, I'm seeing this as the backing track of a video showing time lapse of various flower seeds pushing up through the soil, unfurling in the sun and blooming. A rainstorm comes, but Spring continues to advance unhindered...
Beautiful and evocative. Bravo!

Is this a personal best for you re the number of Mario tracks? Wow.
We love DC Ron's comments. We watch so many nature shows backed with music and this would fit any of them. Gentle streams, clouds, butterflies, wildflowers waving, birds in flight and more and more.
Superb!

Hi Mario! There’s ’s a lot to like about this piece … - The ‘shimmering’ feel of the strings - for a similar evocative effect, listen to ‘Daphnis and Chloe suite no. 2:Daybreak’ by Maurice Ravel
- The interplay of the brass and reeded instruments
- The punctuation of the timpani
- The glorious gong and cymbals at the end
A great piece which triggers imagery in one’s mind! Andrew

Mario this is absolutely fabulous! The whole flow of the piece is, imo, masterful, beautiful and very moving. I'm blown away and only wish I had a modicum of your musical talents. So glad I listened to this, thank you.

That is sooo good Mario,
I'm not a big fan of orchestral music, but even I can tell you've made an exceptional piece of music here. It must be a completely different process of writing compared to writing a pop song. How do you write that and hear all that in your head and get it down? And then know which instruments to bring in and out of the mix.
Your a very clever man, Andre Preview (M&W fans will understand)
Excellent, kind regards

Excellent, kind regards Thanx Lee listening and commenting on my song. Sometimes the process is the same as a pop song. That is I come up with a lead line, lyrics in a song, then the chords and finally the instrumentation. Sometimes in my instrumentals I figure out a chord progression then add the lead(s) and instrumentation. Many times the lead(s) and instruments come by trial and error. Other times I may have a phrase or two that can start a song. In other words there is no set in stone method for my songs.

Hi, Mario. Interesting! I assume the Solid State Strings are where the "shimmer" on the strings comes from. Nice work on the brass. The bit at 3:00 veers into a 1950's sci-fi theme, which is cool. It would sound more orchestral if the instruments were all in a "orchestral room", with brass in the back for more reverb. But it wouldn't necessarily sound any better that way.

Yes that was the Solid State Strings. I like what they add to the other string programs that I have. That is a good point about the reverb and I'll try to remember to do that if/when I do another song like this one.

Hi Mario, I'm a bit late, but I finally had the time to listen to your masterpiece. What a challenge that must have been!
I can picture you as the magnificent conductor directing a gigantic orchestra while it plays your piece! Very, very beautiful.
I did have some doubts about the performance of this piece when I saw the instruments you'd chosen: 1- the French horns 1 & 2 2- the trumpet 3- the alto trombone 4- the violin 5- the viola 6- the bassoon 7- the oboe
Considering the space they're in, they could have gotten into a real fight (or competition). But—and here goes Master Mario—you managed to make them become friends and merge their sounds into your amazing work! Well done, maestro!

We've packed Band-in-a-Box® 2026 with major new features, enhancements, and an incredible lineup of new content! The program now sports a sleek, modern GUI redesign across the entire interface, including updated toolbars, refreshed windows, smoother workflows, a new dark mode option, and more. The brand-new side toolbar provides quicker access to key windows, while the new Multi-View feature lets you arrange multiple windows as layered panels without overlap, creating a flexible, clutter-free workspace. We have an amazing new “AI-Notes” feature. This transcribes polyphonic audio into MIDI so you can view it in notation or play it back as MIDI. You can process an entire track (all pitched instruments and drums) or focus on individual parts like drums, bass, guitars/piano, or vocals.
