Money In The Bottle on Soundcloud Money In The Bottle on YouTube First song of the year. A bear to mix with a strong horn section blended with the vocals and Dave's screamin' guitar. Holy Moly Marty, Dave, and Bill you have just produced the best blues song of 2026! It is going to be harder than breaking a diamond to beat this one. This is better than most all of the blues songs at Alligator Records. Everything is perfect. Loved it!
PS - Taking a short break for a long time? The best song ending ever!

Yowzer! That's some snappy tune! LOVE the arrangement and your vocals really make this swing. Or shuffle. Whatever...
Super human guitar work and harmonies, too. Ya'll sound GREAT together, as always. 2026 is looking MIGHTY good.
FOR SURE!

Marty and Dave I’m not normally a blues person, but this is so good, I was *almost* converted!
That video … very entertaining, and loved the band’s coordinated dance moves!
I think you have peaked too early in 2026! Well done!

This is just a fantastic song! The instrumentation and production is 100%. The video is a blast, too, and I suspect it won't be long before AI can reproduce the whole band actually playing the music as it is with the performers actualised just from photos. I initially read the title as "Money in the Barrel" as I have 4 mini--actual-barrels which are money boxes and were meant for friends' grandkids and my great-great-nieces, but the first thing to go wrong was that they should have had names inscribed on metals plates, but the barrels arrived without them, which must have been a synchronicity as it turned out they weren't wanted as all of the kids are already using cards and thus don't save cash! Well, ya can call me a pre-postmodern venerable rear end breezy one (Waoist woke for 'old fashioned old fart'), but I still like cash! The money boxes - which are actually very cool - are now destined for a charity shop. … I probably am, too!
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Now THAT's a great start into 2026. Toe-tapping goodness. Fantastic work by everyone involved. Video almost in sync with the music in some places. The bassist strums one-note chords. And your dance choreography is ace. Smiling during all my listens.
More please!

Thats a real toe-tapper Marty,
You can always tell when someone gets the mix right. The song jumps out of the speakers and you start looking around the room to see where it's coming from. Big number, well played and sung.... the band is staying together!!
Kind regards

Band in a Bottle too. That walking bass jogs faster than I do. Your vocal is particularly strong and well placed on this mate - really solid. Mr Bell does more ofhis Godd Good Thing and sounds as live as the overall vibe suggests. Another winner from the blues rock duo du jour and n'importe quelle année.

Andrew Thanks, Andrew. Maybe we'll convert ya next time. Dave and I practiced those moves for weeks. This is just a fantastic song! The instrumentation and production is 100%. The video is a blast, too, and I suspect it won't be long before AI can reproduce the whole band actually playing the music as it is with the performers actualised just from photos. Well, ya can call me a pre-postmodern venerable rear end breezy one (Waoist woke for 'old fashioned old fart'), but I still like cash! The money boxes - which are actually very cool - are now destined for a charity shop. … I probably am, too! Thanks, Chay. I don't think all of the money I ever had could fit into a single barrel, but I really like your story. Thanks for that, too. Maybe you could get them all a barrel-shaped money card and just put in a credit card for them. Now THAT's a great start into 2026. Toe-tapping goodness. Fantastic work by everyone involved. Video almost in sync with the music in some places. The bassist strums one-note chords. And your dance choreography is ace. Smiling during all my listens.
More please! Thanks, Brain. If I took more time and paid more money, I could've had those guys dancing and singing perfectly. But there's not much creativity in the process. Creating for the ears is more my speed.

Hi, Marty. That was fun! I mean, to listen to, apparently less so to mix. But the horns add a lot, so it was worth it. You know money in the bottle will bring us back again.Ah, so that's why my tip jar remains empty. Clever lyrics, well sung, and some amazing guitar. You had me worried at 2:20 that the bass player might be getting a long solo.

Marty,
This is fantastic. I love, love, love the groove. You, Dave and Bill have really reached the stratosphere with this one. The lyrics tell a great story and bring quite few smiles along with them. There's lots of fun in this musical journey. You really are a very creative songsmith. Dave's guitar work along with your singing and bass playing are always top notch and shine really brightly in this mix. Moreover, it's very easy to hear that this is a genre in which everyone feels 200% comfortable. I tip my metaphorical hat to you all on a job well done!

fj Thanks, Floyd. The whole idea was to make a tribute to an old band from the 80s and 90s, Daddy-O & The Sax Maniacs. They'll never hear it. Great energy on this one - chorus was killer and Dave's guitar was off the charts. I was singing along toward the end. Could not be better! Thanks so much, Bob. And thanks for your help in getting the mix right. Hmmm, I also predict that you'll be back here. Thats a real toe-tapper Marty,

Your vocal is particularly strong and well placed on this mate - really solid. Mr Bell does more ofhis Godd Good Thing and sounds as live as the overall vibe suggests. Another winner from the blues rock duo du jour and n'importe quelle année. Ha, I like that Band in a Bottle idea, Ray. A couple drops of this and a dash of that... Man, you're right. Isn't it cool how Dave grabs the idea of each song and fits in perfectly?

Hi Marty,
I was convinced I'd left a comment on your song on YouTube! A week ago, I think, Marijke and I were watching your video and laughing out loud at your band(s) who don't make a cent from their music. Just like me... But just now I saw—to my surprise—that I hadn't left a comment on this funny video and the amazing song!
I can imagine you won't want to talk to me if I do this again...
But as I said (and if you read between the lines), Marijke (that's my wife, for the others here) and I enjoyed the song, the show, and the empty bottle. It reminded me of Stefan Nachtsheim and how he makes his great, funny videos! (For those who don't remember him: he was a member of this forum for years with his fantastic videos. Just look him up online.) You could be his friend now, oh, you already are. You've been in a few of his videos...
And to continue: not only did we enjoy the song, but we were also amazed at how quickly you jumped from side to side with your powerful bass. At your age...!
Great song, Marty!
Hans

"Going to take a short break for a long time" - killer. 😎 Hahaha. I'm so glad you caught that very versatile instrument created by the wonkiest instrument maker, OpenArt. We only hired the guy cuz of his instrument. No one can really play it. OpenArt needs to create the musician who can. Yeah, those horns were tough to duck behind Dave's fabulous fingers and keep out of the vocals. Glad you feel I did it. Thanks so much for being you, Izzy. Ain't no OpenArt can match you. Well, that was a fun song, for sure. Playing live gigs can be tricky if you don't get regular breaks (especially if you're paid in pints of beer). Take a well-earned 5 and give yourselves a 10 out of 10. Haha. Cool comment. Brian. You get it. Paid in pints... Sometimes the bar owner wouldn't want us to take breaks so we couldn't get another. Had to come back and listen to this killer tune again! I rarely do that. You really delilvered on this one, Marty!! Ah, I predicted you'd be back, Bob. And I still say it needs a harmonica-- or is it AN harmonica? Thanks, David. Haha. That was my solo.

Amazing dance band that brings joy to every face - and lightness to the wallet. Great to see you guys play in the Live Ai concert, just wondering why the bass player needs five different instruments during one song Excellent arrangement, those horns sound really funky, the live feel is well present. Great vocals, and very pleasant harmonies. And I surely enjoyed the sonic charm and the skills of all the players, Dave's solo is so hot that the smoke alarm must have had trouble holding back its scream. If I could ask for something, the bass solo would have been much longer Janne

Well, you nailed the mix, Marty, as those horns sound great. Like Hans, we were also reminded of Stefan’s music. You’ve got a cool groove with the BiaB wrecking crew. Along with hot guitar by Dave, sweet harmonies and a fine lead vocal. Love your bass and the cool little interlude with the bass and drums. And a witty lyric that anyone who has been in a band can relate to. Cool way to start the year! Y'all keep on the dancing J&B

Hans Thanks, Hans. Thanks also for mentioning Stefan (Crossroads). So I'm gonna skip all the rest of this comment cuz I gotta get to that guy, and ALSO I see a new one of yours in WhatsAPP that I gotta hear.

Love everything about it Marty! It's swingin' goodness! Your vocals sound better than ever, and blends well with the excellent background harmony vocalist! Dave sounds like he channeled a little bit of Brian May (Crazy Little thing called love)! Guys, your talent is on full display here and it's wonderful!

Marty ...
That walking 4/4 bass drives this so perfectly. great lyric, arrangement, a presentation. That lead guitar by Dave kills it! And Bill sounded terrific, too.
I think this is one of your best vocals - sounds great. Your songs are always worth the time to listen.
Great work! For sure!

If I could ask for something, the bass solo would have been much longer Janne Haha. Dance band, huh? Thanks, Janne. We're better live, but we dance better in video. Well, those clips were from different shows. We end every set with the Bottle Song. Haha. What a great comment, Janne. Y'all keep on the dancing J&B Thanks, you two. RayC also mentioned Stefan. Yeah, he is remarkable. Sorry I gotta make this quick, but on my way here I noticed you have a new one. Thanks also for all your help and inspiration in my mixing education. Now that's a foot tappin' beer drinkin' good time song! Terrific rockin' jazz! A crowd pleaser! John Thanks, John. And another big welcome to the forum. Your photo reminds me of an incredible guitar-playing friend of 35 years.
TB Thanks, Torrey! Lots of fun --dig that crazy little dude. I love this Marty! Great production. Love the guitar, very tasty! Thanks for posting this. Thank you, Paul. Dave, at first was reluctant to play over horns, but I told him to ignore them and they will play under him. Marty ...

Alan Thanks, Alan. It was always good being in a house band on open-mic night and having the next contestant say, "12-bar Blues in A." Much bettter that the trumpet player who turns to us and says, "4 flats. Ready? 1-2...1-2-3-4," and just starts blowing at about 255BPM.
