Guys, I just bought BIAB 26, and it looks the biz

Would the following gear choices be OK? I intend to perhaps eventually get into recording my guitar with BIAB but it is primarily for song input chord feature and the jam along nature of the prog I fancy

Windows PC
A Solo 4th Gen Solo Focusrite audio i/face
ILoud Micro speakers

That be OK and get me going y'all think?

Thanks Guys smile

Could be that a lot of folks aren't paying right now because of the nationwide Verizon cell phone outage.

And of course, forum answers aren't immediate necessarily... Gotta wait for folks to read them and then decide they know the answer.

I would, but am not familiar with your specific equipment, other than the Windows PC.

I use an old Win PC .... Focusrite 2i2 ( 3rd I believe ) ... and my Roland keyboard as speakers.
Audacity or Reaper for recording.

Works very well and good for an amateur like me.

Here is a critical reveiw of the iLouds. https://noaudiophile.com/IK_Multimedia_iLoudMM/

A couple of points I don't like, e.g., heating of the powered speaker and distortion. Other than that using these with BIAB and as a general desktop computer speaker should work fine. You really don't need much for BIAB. I think you could save money here and get a more conventional desktop speaker. I run dual speakers - on set of JBL monitors and one set of simple cheap desktop speakers. The monitors are only on when I am in my daw or when mixing.

The Solo looks like an industry standard. Priced at a good starting point. So that should work well to get you going.

When one asks for advice one gets many good but different views on what to get.

If I were in your shoes I would not get those speakers and get a pair of good near field monitors instead. M-Audio has many different sized near field monitors, some less expensive than the ILoud Micro speakers. If you could afford $50 USD more I would suggest these M-Audio near field monitors:

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FortySixtyPr--m-audio-forty-sixty-6.5-inch-powered-studio-monitor-pair

IMHO I think you would happier with a good set of near field monitors plus they would probably last a long time. My M-Audio near field monitors cost around the same as the ones I suggested, considering inflation, and are now about 10 years old and still going strong.

This is just my opinion and others may or may not agree.

Good luck

They were downsized laugh grin laugh grin

My old Pioneer audiophile stereo speakers had a 16" woofer, a 10" mid range, and a small tweeter! They were a bear to move! They also were drastically downsized to much smaller speakers that sound just as good!

I would spend a little more to get the 2 input focusrite. You might not need it right now but if you do it's there.
