Hello again friends! Another write for your deliberation!!

Second Time Around, a song about finding new love.........we can all dream!!

All real tracks, I think my vocals are a little hot so will probably redo the recording, but as a demo I think its passable.

BIAB 2026
Mixcraft Pro Studio 10
Various effects

Thanks for taking the time to listen

Pete

[Verse 1]
The sun set slow on the life I knew,
A worn-out heart, cracked and bruised.
But there you were, like a springtime breeze,
Shaking the dust right off of me.

[Prechorus]
I thought my best days were behind,
But your smile rewrote the time.

[Chorus]
It’s the second time around,
New love where the old fell down.
A spark I thought had burned away,
Lit up again in your embrace.
I was lost, but now I’m found,
It’s the second time around.

[Verse 2]
The years had carved their lines on me,
A weathered oak, roots deep in grief.
But you saw life where I saw cracks,
Your laughter pulled the colors back.

[Prechorus]
I thought my heart would sing the blues,
But you played a brand-new tune.

[Chorus]
It’s the second time around,
New love where the old fell down.
A spark I thought had burned away,
Lit up again in your embrace.
I was lost, but now I’m found,
It’s the second time around.

Another good 'un, Pete. Uplifting, impassioned vocals and I love how Brent's guitar dances around between the lyric lines. Top stuff!

Pete.

Love the sound. Catchy chorus!

The vocal is a bit hot, but more than fine enough for demoing the song.

Nice! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi Pete!
I love the energy in this one - matches the enthusiasm in the lyrics. As Rob commented, that lead dances nicely around the vocals - also with a lot of energy.

The 5th line of the chorus - maybe her name will be ‘Grace’? laugh

Well done!

Nicely done, Pete. Exuberant band and super vocals. Like the stereo image of the rhythm guitars bouncing off of each other, and the lead lines fit in nicely , too. Excellent job all the way around.

Hot little number Pete,

Really liked the style and guitar choices. Perhaps as you say a little hot, especially at the top of the chorus, but if still works. You do have a good solid singing voice, really like it.

Great job, kind regards.

Thank you, I'm gonna redo the vocals as it's bugging me that they are too hot lol. I'm sure I'm hearing it more as I know it's there!!

Your comment is much appreciated

"Love is easier the second time around." Excellent choice on the accompanying band. Your vocal always hits the spot with feeling and conviction. The perfect mix lets everyone sit so well in this. Man, this is my second time around --I got the YT notice yesterday. Very good write and production, Pete.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Very catchy and upbeat song with a good message. I thought the vocals were fine, exuding a suitable quantity of passion. As others have mentioned, the standout was the 4056 guitar, filling out the ends of each line. Good one, Pete!

Brilliant positive song lyrically and I love that amazing rhythm section sound. Great, arrangement and mix, so 100% all around. It also sounds finished, not just a demo.

Hi Pete,
I enjoyed your very nice song and especially the vocals. Man, they are great!
But I also enjoyed your video of BiaB. I think it's the first time I see it, being used the way you did!
So, then I can also ask if you don't use BiaB for the recording of your vocals?
I do that most of my time and I also write my lyrics in the lyrics section per bar. But you didn't. Tell me...

Loved your cool song very much, as I started this post. And that's really true.
You did a good job!!!
