The Ad

Everything you need to know is on SoundCloud.

BiaB style – Schootis MIDI Accordion Folk
Tempo – 110 BPM

I deleted the drums and bass tracks.
Piano - EastWest –Gypsy – Camp Musette Master
Guitar – Kontakt – Soundprops – The Alabama

I am playing the lead guitar, the Harley Benton fake Gretsch, and via my keyboard the jugs (Kontakt – Bottle Blown sus) and the washboard (3DIO Washboard). The foot tapping is a free wav that I copied and pasted on every beat.

As always all comments are welcomed.

Hey Mario.

It's good to hear you singing again. It's been a long time since I last heard you smile I love the story, especially the 'harmonica' twist at the end. I've just come to this song after listening to your fully orchestrated "I Wonder". Honestly, I could never have predicted that your imagination would take you from that song to this one. You're a man of many talents!

You certainly are a man of varied styles Mario.

This is such a humourous little number, with a Bavaria beer hall feel. As Noel said, it’s nice to hear your vocals front and centre.

I was a but worried though. In your write up on Soundcloud you wrote “ Then Cousin Julie came over with her jugs” ……made me laugh!

Nice tune Mario, kind regards.

Hi Mario!
I think the 'E' means 'End!'. Good singing, good accompaniment - really fits the scene description you gave. I love the tremolo on the guitar solo - sounds like solo style that Johnny Cash would've used.
Loved it!

Mario,

Another awesome song. Love to hear you sing. The combination of instruments works so well together. A great mix as well.

EXCELLENT!

VERY cool, Mario! Love the oompah feel and that relentless accordion. More vocals--even cooler! Wild ending, too! I never learned much from those music store lesson packs, though it wasn't for lack of trying back in the day. Nice one!

Different!

Sounds good, Mario, not mad about accordion, but you made up for it with the Duane Eddy style tremolo guitar solo wink

Nice hearing you sing too. And love the ending "why is there an E printed on this harmonica" grin

Cute little ditty, Mario. Washboard & squeeze box. The only thing missing is a juice harp. I like it!

Thanx so much Noel. I'm really just a hacker when it comes to singing. I think playing in a wedding band for many years expanded my appreciation for all genres, thus leading me to playing many different styles, of course with the help of BiaB. I'm glad that you liked it.

Thanx Ron. Yes front porch accordionist may not be the most versatile musicians grin
I never bought one of records. I learned my reading notation and ruining my vinyl records trying to learn those licks.

Thanx Dave. I am a big fan of Duane Eddy. I loved his lower string guitar leads. "Detour" was one of my favorites.
I came up with that E ending because after I had recorded that really bad off key harmonica I saw the E on my harmonica and just had to end with it. I'm glad you liked it.

Thanx Floyd. I have seen ads like that one and said I have to do a song about it. I'm glad I was able to put a smile on your face.

Thanx Paul, I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment on my little ditty.
Yes a jaw harp would have been a good addition. I'll try to remember that if/when I do another "porch orchestra"!

What a great extemporaneous band! smile
Reminds us of our bluegrass parking lot pickings when sometimes it just all fell together in the good way.

Great instrumental performances by you and a cool vocal.

Lotta fun!

Hey, Mario. There's something much more appealing and genuine about the everyman vocal you have than the polished vocals I hear on so many songs. The polka background and fun lyrics compliment your style and add to the enjoyment of the song. This is the stuff we don't get every day that makes music richer and makes us believe in making music. Thanks much!
