Chica Roja on Soundcloud
Chica Roja on YouTube

A song about a dancer in a red dress.
When doing the vocal I planned on making it even weirder with effects. Turns out I sang it weird enough.

Style is _DELRIO+.STY (Del Rio Tex-Mex Ctry MultiStyle)

RealTracks in style: 1292:Accordion, Rhythm TexMexCountry Ev 120
RealTracks in style: 848:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm CountryRockRiff Ev 120 (A:sync)
RealTracks in style: 1718:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockStraightBrent Ev 120
RealTracks in song: 3764:Guitar, Nylon, Rhythm BeguineRamon Ev 110
RealDrums in style:TexMexCountryEv8^2-a:Groove, Shaker & Scrapper , b:QuarterRide, Shaker & Scrapper AND added EZDrummer
I played bass and sang.

Chica Roja

Chica Roja dances in market place all day.
She can dance away the troubles of your life
Twirling all around the people in the town watch in awe.
The hem of her red dress she pulls up to her chest. Chica Roja.

When she dances everyone around has eyes on her.
Captivating she dances up and down the street.
With energy to spare she dances without care
and crowds will draw.
With or without music she's intoxicating. Chica Roja.

Chica Roja dances in market place all day.
She can dance away the troubles of your life .
The hem of her red dress she pulls up to her chest
and crowds will draw.
With or without music she's intoxicating. Chica Roja.

I think the vocal stands well just like it is! You recorded an excellent sounding song here!
Love the south of the border sound here, really authentic sounding to me.
I don't know how you keep coming up with so many great songs in rapid succession, but it's a great thing!
Keep on rockin' TB

Marty - great song with your usual excellent vocal,
for me the accordion could come up just a smidge
but then I'm a squeezebox lover!
Wow the guitar solo is really tasty, and very cool
sounding - who played that I wonder, classy!!
Intoxicating Chica Roja indeed, well done Marty!

Hi Marty!
That Am - F - E chord move sounds good. I’ve always liked the sweeping strum pattern used - or maybe it was the scraper? In any case, a cool sound. Vocal sounds good.

Si, Senor Marty

Muchas gracias, si numero uno to meeeee!

Sorry, my Mexican is non-existent! You certainly have captured that Mexican or is it Spanish feel in this number. And I think your vocals added to that feel, effects or modifications weren’t need.

Well done Marty, kind regards

BabuMusic, nice little shift in the chord work, I think most flamingo changes would have been Am-Dm-E7, but the F fits well. Nice job.

Slinky and cool, Marty. LOVE your vocals: Almost over the top, but not a parody, and they work perfectly. That's a nice band, and the bass player is quite excellent, too. smile Super tune!

TexMex with a cool swing and French accordion.
A beautiful blend of different cultures.
The best thing about it are your vocals, which are like a French wine that gets better with every year.
Enjoyed my listen(s).

Yes, it's amazing how prolific you are, but also it's incredible all the genres you encompass. And your singing just fit the song so well. No need for special effects, the special effect was you! Great job.

Hey, Marty. I thought I'd give this a listen before I wash dishes. Now I'm going to dance with that music in my head while doing the dishes and hopefully none will fall on the floor! That's really different...a Tex Mex groove! I hadn't heard that done before. Your vocals are superb on it. The minor keys really give it the mood. I enjoyed it! Very well done!

Hi Marty,

Did the idea for this song come when I told you about my son's relationship with a Mexican girl dressed in red? It ended painfully a few years ago, but a few weeks ago she came to visit us with her family.
And then you came with her, doing this amazing dance!

I already sent you a message on YouTube, but the song is so catchy I had to listen to it over and over again.
Your choice of instrumentation is fantastic. The washboard (is that what you call it?) sounds authentic and enhances the atmosphere of the song.
I really enjoyed it. Now I use the words "Chica Roja" all the time. My wife wants me to stop...

Tex-Mex, I enjoy it both orally and aurally smile Lovely band, enjoyed the versatile percussions and the accordion is always a nice surprise. And that solo guitarist fits like beans in tortilla, yum! And of course the bass guy sounds like he has been playing this type of music all of his life. Great effects and your singing/talking is lively and soulful.

The story with melancholy mood, together with the captivating video, intoxicates any innocent mind, beautiful! You surely can mold curvaceous snapshots with your words and BIAB smile

Thanks much, Bob. I like all music (except maybe Polkas, but if that's all there is, I still enjoy them). Credit for the different genres goes to BiaB. I like jamming when someone says something like, "You Can't Do That in Reggae." Thankfully I haven't found a single Polka in the 5000 styles from BiaB.

Thanks, Hans. I forget how the song developed; I'm usually more of an interested bystander as the song develops. I bet you mean the accordion or sqeezebox or a bunch of other names, but a washboard is actually a washboard played as percussion. Not in this one.

Good news! You still have time to upgrade to the latest version of Band-in-a-Box® for Windows® and save. Our Band-in-a-Box® 2026 for Windows® special now runs through January 15, 2025!

We've packed Band-in-a-Box® 2026 with major new features, enhancements, and an incredible lineup of new content! The program now sports a sleek, modern GUI redesign across the entire interface, including updated toolbars, refreshed windows, smoother workflows, a new dark mode option, and more. The brand-new side toolbar provides quicker access to key windows, while the new Multi-View feature lets you arrange multiple windows as layered panels without overlap, creating a flexible, clutter-free workspace. You can process an entire track (all pitched instruments and drums) or focus on individual parts like drums, bass, guitars/piano, or vocals. There's an amazing collection of new content too, including 202 RealTracks, new RealStyles, MIDI SuperTracks, Instrumental Studies, “Songs with Vocals” Artist Performance Sets, Playable RealTracks Set 5, two RealDrums Stems sets, XPro Styles PAK 10, Xtra Styles PAK 21, and much more!

There are over 100 new features in Band-in-a-Box® 2026 for Windows®.
