I'm new to the Reaper plugin and now have some time to work with it.
I have BIAB 2026 songs that were created and generated in BIAB and I loaded them into the Reaper plugin. I then generated the songs in Reaper and then moved them to the DAW. When playing the songs, the Reaper plugin chords do not move in the FX Track window.
Is that normal, no chord movement unless the song is completely constructed in the Reaper DAW with the BIAB plug in? If it's normal, then knowing that will save me hours of time trying to fix what's normal.
Thanks

What does "no chord movement mean" ? Are you saying it does not play? If so, then No, that is not normal. Songs can be constructed in BIAB and then opened in the BIAB-VST and can be playing either in the BIAB-VST or synched and played via the Reaper Transport. Having said that I just tried the BIAB-VST in Reaper and had only midi playing, no realtracks played. But that is just me!

When I created that post, I couldn't think of a way to quickly describe the "chord movement". My bad. I just asked ChatGPT and they said it's called a "“playback cursor and the current bar highlight on the Chord Sheet.”".... I learned something new today. So, in BIAB the "Current Bar Highlight" moves while the song plays. In the BIAB Reaper plugin while in Reaper with a BIAB song that I previously created in BIAB loaded in the Reaper plugin, the "Current Bar Highlight" does not move while the song plays.

I would change the title of the OP with the updated newly found information of "Current Bar Highlight" instead of chord movement, but apparently the forum software does not allow the updating of thread titles, or I'm missing it.

Hello,
I noticed some issues as well. After loading the song and generating the files, the cursor did not change bars in the Band-in-a-Box plugin. I stopped the song, clicked play again, but this time it did work. Would you please let us know if clicking play again after stopping the song works for you?
Thank you, Catherine

Thank you, Catherine Back when I created the OP, I had found how to open the plugin in Reaper and load the BIAB songs from my HD. After finding that with the issue of the cursor not moving, I gave up on the plugin and haven't used it since. After *many* years of using BIAB, it didn't seem like the plugin was going to be much of a benefit to me so I'm back to the old ways, and all is good. Now when I try to open the plugin in Reaper so I could respond to your post, the plugin opens after choosing the VST3 in FX and when I load one of the BIAB demo songs from my HD, the plugin goes in an endless loop with nothing loading and the message at the bottom of the plugin window that scrolls horizontally saying loading and the file name. I've tried several songs with the same issue. So, I'll have to thrash with it when I get some time. The need for the plugin at this time is not crucial, I was just trying it to see if it would be of a benefit for me, which at this point in time does not, as it's creating more work and time consumption vs benefit. I should note that I watched the videos, but they are good for the guy making the video because everything works on his system and configuration with no hiccups, and he knows exactly what to do before he starts. I'm starting from total ignorance on the plugin. Edit: I should note that when I did my first testing of the Reaper DAW plugin, I was using a Behringer UMC204HD USB interface that was configured correctly for recording and playback. I've since moved the UMC204HD to a different computer for an audio recording project with BIAB and RB, and I'm now using just a Creative Audigy FX for playback on the original computer that I have been testing the Reaper / BIAB DAW on. The driver settings etc. are all configured correctly in both pgms for the Audigy card, but I'm just pointing out what's changed. I have not installed Reaper on the other computer since it is being used on an experimental basis for a temporary project so it won't be available for testing this issue. Thanks for your response.
