I wonder if they'll announce anything at NAMM.. You'd think they would but I'm betting they already did with Monday's announcements. The last two years, Fender was in attendance at NAMM but in an area not open to general attendees. A company has to make an appointment for their buyer who partners with a salesperson with a clipboard prepared to take your dealer order. Being the Owner/Admin for my company, I could sign someone up but I've never been a Fender dealer and don't intend to start now. I don't need to occupy the same niche as my local Guitar Center. Like almost all attendees, I'm hoping that Fender is more visible at NAMM this year but I'm not holding my breath.

Hello Mike,
where have you seen this annoncment hat Notion 7 will becomme part of fender studio pro subscription? Right now I run the desktop app on windows, but a "real" Notion 7 might be the better option. There is a learning curve with the app.

The pace of announcements and clarifications is furious, but my understanding is there is no Notion 7 and there will not be one.
Support for Notion 6, which has been unchanged in about five years, ends a year from now, but it will keep running as it is.
Fender Notion is the new name of their free mobile app.

I just bought SOP7 (not the subscription one) before Xmas to complete my DAW library - and I did. I still don't get why so many like it - I find it NOT intuitive but I have yet to find the perfect or even best DAW.
In any case, brought it, BIAB 2026. And a few other items then something hit me like a truck full of rocks fell on me. Initially thought it was a severe flare up of my sciatica- turns out it was a whole lot worse. Blood infection (still being treated) and L4/L5 crushed disk out of nowhere with no contributing falls, incorrect bending, lifting etc.
Hospitalized 20 Dec moved to skilled nursing facility on 2 Jan where I am now - missed Xmas, our wedding anniversary (two days after xmas), and New Years. Probably stuck here until either 30 Jan when I see infectious disease folks or at worst 10 Feb when my daily antibiotic treatment, via a PICC line, ends. So far all treatment is 99% for the blood infection and very little physical/occupational therapy for back pain which is why I went to emergency room on 20 Dec in the first place - LOL.
PS- Wife has stage 3/4 lung cancer found in Jan last year. Should say."had" we are waiting for next PET/CT scan IN March to see how well post chemo & post radiation treatment with a now a every 6 week infusion has shrunk tumor further. She responded well to chemo and radiation treatment tumor shrunk significantly.
I'm a type 2 diabetic, with artificial aortic value and stent in LAD (96% blockage), aforementioned sciatica, as well as lost vision in right eye this past year (wet macula degeneration literally over night - went to bed on Sunday night early July woke up Monday blind).
Besides whining about my health issues. Reading about what's going on with S.O. reminds this aged pain riddled mediocre guitar player about Cakewalk, me dropping it a year out from Gibson letting Sonar Platinum (suppose to be "lifetime" upgrade product ha, ha, ha) go tango uniform.
I dont expect to see Studio One in a year or, two at the outside. But I am a pain ridden, semi- hospitalized eternal pessimist so it's probably the morphine talking - LOL
Good luck all Larry

Larry, It has been quite a year for you and your wife. I can't express how sorry I am over your health issues. Both you and your wife are in my thoughts and prayers. Blood infections are difficult to treat. It takes a long time to get the infection out of your body. Once the infection is gone I'm sure the doctors will work on repairing your crushed disk and rehab. I hope your wife's PET scan show positive results. By the way, right now the morphine drip button is your best friend; enjoy it.

Larry, sorry to hear about all of your health problems. I hope you and your wife both have complete recoveries. Meanwhile take it easy, don't get to excited, and follow your doctor's orders.

Hello Matt, I am not sure if Fender Notion does have all the features, I do not use the product on an expert Level. It does however all I can think of. Yet, there is a learning curve beyond getting used to the GUI. The shortcuts differ a lot. Besides entering note names (e. pressing "W" for whole note) other things have changed. You not get a "Slur" anymore from [SHIFT] S but it is [ALT] S now. And the less "important" an option is, the more deviation from what one is used to happens.
All the above applies to the Fender Notion Desktop App from the Windows App Store (I do not know about other Versions behaviour). And just Like Fender Studio is a "minimalised" Version of Fender Studio Pro, Fender Notion is not Fender Notion Desktop! While Fender Notion is free (as far as I know), this full fledged Notion is part of the suscription. You only have Access with a Subscription to Fender Studio Pro +

In case anyone else misunderstood the terms for getting the Fender Studio Pro upgrade: I had purchased the non-subscription Presonus Studio Pro 7 and just found that Fender Studio Pro was registered to me as a gift in January. So if you think this is an extra cost upgrade, can't hurt to check your account...

It appears that I can still use Notion 6 on my Mac except that it can't use 64 bit plugins and VIs... that doesn't fly.
Ok... There's a "free" Fender Notion 7 upgrade in the App Store that will open my .notion files but wait—it can't be installed on my Mac ?!?!/!? On further poking around, this will only run on my iPad as a sidecar to my Mac. Oh hell no. I do have Notion for iPad and that upgrade was free last month but I'm not using it as a sidecar app.
I hadn't fired up the desktop version in a couple years, my client who needed me to have Notion upgraded his copy of Sibelius so that need is gone. Yes, I can open these files in Studio Pro but I have no need for yet anther DAW. I never created new work in N5/6 anyway so farewell to yet another notation app that has outlived its usefulness.

I have been using Studio One from version 5.5. I kind of lucked in to Fender Studio Pro. I was having so many issues with my Apollo Duo (drivers) I put it up on Facebook Marketplace and sent it down the road. I purchased a Presonus a Quantam ES 2 and it came with 6 mos subscription and a perpetual version of Studio One 7. I did not like the path the software I felt is was leaving out the guitar players and focusing on the Electronic music. Then boom two weeks later Fender Studio Pro. This was right up my alley. The Fender Mustang Native is a really cool plugin and the Tonalics was a nice add but limited. Very expensive for the subscription. I really like the way Universal Studio integrates with my Atom SQ, Faderport 8, and Quantam ES2. I dont mic amps any more as I am also using a Helix LT. The Helix Native and Mustang Native both sound really cool on dry tracks.. I have used the extract tracks and it works really good. I wanted to create guitar tabs of my solos with Notion 6 and melodyne but found it very inaccurate and frustrating.

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
