Wow, you really have the BLUES voice, maybe the best in the world at the moment (because the better ones, if any, are already lying in their graves), roughness and feeling. And what a contrast to the lyrics, the dull man of the story is from a different planet than the singer smile And also the writer of the lyrics is a genius, going to the extreme of dullness no one has ever gone to before, "Too blank for the canvas, too plain for the frame." - I love that, I doubt anyone can reach your level of blues, you've done for the blues what Kung Fu Hustle did for kung fu movies!

The band is excellent, the mix is excellent, the harmonies are excellent. I love the sax, even though it is not dull smile

Pure fun and excellence!

Janne

Hi, Izzy.

Fun lyrics, well sung. You know Mel, too? He's done a lot of work for me. wink

Excellent band, too!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hey Janne,

Your review was the exact kind of blues‑powered rocket fuel I needed today. Reading “you’ve done for the blues what Kung Fu Hustle did for kung fu movies” made my grumpy “dull‑man” grin so wide I almost hit a high note on the first bar!

Your words were the perfect mix of blues‑soul swagger and tongue‑in‑cheek brilliance, and I’m still smiling like a kid who just found the hidden track on a cassette.

And as if that wasn't enough, while I was still basking in the glory of your post, I received a text from my old bandmates wanting to reform! I'm pretty sure it's not a coincidence - I think your post must have sent positive vibes into the universe, and now I think you’ve sprinkled a little Finnish luck on my day! 🎲 ♠♥♦♣

So thank you Janne for the brilliant review, the sax‑loving nod, and the extra dose of serendipity. I'm honoured to have fans like you who truly get it. ༼♥ل͜♥༽

You’ve turned my day from “meh” to “Hell yeah!” 🤑

With a big, grateful grin, 😁 💗
Izzy

Hi Izzy,
This is great humor, even for Dutch standards!
I had to laugh the whole song through:
I told the waitress, “You can call me Fred,”
She said, “I’d rather call you gone instead.”

If this is a boring song... well... eh, then I'll love boring songs from now on!
Your singing is amazing, but tell me, were you hoarse after singing? Could you still talk?

I think from now on we can call this Fun Blues, a new genre. And you in the lead!

Hans

Hi Hans,

Thanks for the laugh—and the sympathy!

If “Fun Blues” is now a genre, I accept full responsibility (and royalties) but next time, I’ll sing in a lower key

I can still talk, but everything now sounds like a vintage radio. 😜

With gratitude (and a little Dutch courage),

Your vote of confidence (and your sense of humour) means more than you know.

Izzy

Thanks Izzy. We'll do a song together one day, ok?

These lines had us smile:
“Even my echo packed up to roam,
Left a sticky note sayin’, “You’re on your own.”
What a terrific write ... all the way.
There enough great lines in it for several writes. smile

You know we love a good blues song!
We like the creative lyric and your passionate vocals.
You and Mel Odyne nailed those soulful vocals.

That is one cool band and sax solo was perfecto.
Eight guitar tracks! Wow … way above our mix pay grade.
